I have similar requirements as you , but most do not so we are the outliers. With battery build constraints, not good biz to prioritize outliers.

It's amazing Tesla hasn't touched the Cybertruck part of their website for a very long time. I understand it isn't being sold yet so it's not listed on the main page along with shipping vehicles and solar items but it would be really nice if Tesla started adding some new items to the CT page because it appears the first production CT has left the assembly line.

It's time, Tesla.

Sorry, I am still in left field. The tri motor during this original config period is rated at 500+ miles. Once you click on the "Tri Motor AWD" on the right, you will see it is 500+ miles. Where did you see that Tesla will not have a 500 mile variant?

You're confused, because no one said that.

The claim under discussion is "500 mile variant in the first year of production"

Okay, thanks for the clarification.

My head is out of the bucket now... Carry on. :)

You posited hitting surface streets or traffic.

My experience is that increases the range of an EV - because it's not draining its power supply idling an engine.

If I'm on the highway and my range drops below the the target... I just drop to the frontage road and relax. Cut my speed to two thirds or half and my range doubles.

Now, you in a Cybertruck won't get that big of a boost - you'll have AC and aerodynamics - but you will get a range boost if there's traffic.

The US Federal $7500 transitions to a point-of-sale incentive in 2024.

Here in NJ we are also exempt from state sales tax on BEVS with no vehicle MSRP cap. ?

because it appears the first production CT has left the assembly line.

every time someone suggests that “production has started”, a hopium angel gets its wings

let’s let Tesla do it’s job and finish building/validating the line, and the line validation vehicles

there are potentially months before the first retail production units roll off that line - no one should be shocked if that’s not until January

the reason for this conservative approach to word choice?

aside from spreading misinformation, it’s that people have had enough of waiting, and setting false expectations only breeds further distrust of Tesla

You do realize Tesla showed a photo of the first production CT coming off the line with a bunch of Tesla employees surrounding it. It might not be the first CT to go to a customer but it still is the first CT built on the Austin assembly line.

See, that sort of response is exactly what I'm talking about - you have been confused by the inaccurate and misleading verbiage and hopium on this forum, despite Tesla itself being extremely clear that production of the CT has not begun

from Wednesday's call: "cybertruck remains on track to begin initial production later this year"

Again, this unhelpful distortion of your expectations, despite even Tesla being clear to the contrary, is why i squawk when others on this forum misunderstand or misuse terms that have meaning. And then you, being mislead, turn around and further propagate that misinformation and distortion of expectations.

For context, it was as little as 4 months and as much as 6 months between the first Model Y RC being "built" and the first production Model Y rolling off the line.

Temper your expectations accordingly, and hope to be surprised in the right direction.

Notice the word "built"

And from Wednesday's call, notice the phrases "working on equipment installation for Cybertruck production," "with that comes trialing and testing new technologies," "cybertruck factory tooling on track," and "cybertruck remains on track to begin initial production later this year"
