Its worth it to me at that price IF its got a 500 mile range battery AND its got all the options they are offering.

If its 150 or so less miles its not worth more than $88k with all the options (since FSD is kindoff a fake option I’m not including that)
I wonder how many rich people like you will buy Cybertruck for $100k? How many people are willing to take a loan with interest rate range from 5.04% to 14.18%?

Is this real?

I definitely advise you to go to a Service Center or Showroom. I have been a frequent visitor to my Center here in Reno. Very nice folks. They will give you the straight skinny and you will not be scammed. The phone call sounds fishy.

We can expect a few things to happen from previous experience with other Tesla rollouts:

* The first trucks offered will be pretty pricy (more than the $49K or $69K from the unveiling).
* It will be no surprise if those first trucks don't qualify the tax credit.
* The first trucks will not be as well-equipped as later models (that will come later for a higher cost)

Trucks are really expensive
a 3 motor truck that goes 0-60 in 3 seconds is not really designed to be a truck for the masses imo. Gonna be expensive to insure and expensive to keep in good tires.

As far as your pointed question, i can’t answer that but I would assumed its many multiples above a much less useful SUV or Sedan with the same powertrain and price ?‍♂

A Model X is roughly 2x the cost of a Model Y for insurance. My hunch is that the Cybertruck will have an expensive insurance premium.

sounds like a miss reading on your part, then, somehow

Which misreading seems a theme:

ultimately, it seems you’re overly emotional about a pickup truck, and projecting onto others your frustrations - while seeing ghosts that aren’t there
Perhaps, but you haven't helped matters despite your lofty perch.

I am not projecting my frustrations onto you or anyone. I am speaking them openly for the entire world. I am not the one making claims. I am just frustrated by the ones others make - probably a lot in part because they may come to pass and 'that' is frustrating.

I think that after waiting for 4 years I am entitled to a bit of emotion. I have never had to wait for a car in my life. The longest timeline I was ever on was for my doctorate and that had milestones along the way so it didn't seem like a single multi-year stretch.

I don't care what they charge for a replacement pack, that is always more than cost.
LOL, you think it's not more than cost when you are buying it in the vehicle?

I think this is one of the reasons they made the base cybertruck G-Rated (8001-9000lb). They were looking at the specs and knew if they lowered the payload rating, they could save everyone insurance money. How many base truck buyers need 3500lb payload capacity?

Tesla can only make a few 100 of these before the batteries are exhausted.
So
Out of the 2 million reservists' 1000 will pony up $100,000 for a EvTruck.
and
The rest will have to hold off for 2 years.
Tesla has said they have already produced 20 million 4680s at GigaTexas. Word is that is with one line, and that numbers two and three are currently being installed, with plans for six or seven. With a calculated guess of around 3000 for a Cybertruck that implies enough cell production for thousands per month. That is in line with Elon's 125,000 per year target.

Another thing to remember about these early retail units. 4680 specs will improve over the course of the next couple of years as the cathode plant is running and as chemistry improves. We are currently at 95.15Wh/cell. It will improve to about 99.4Wh/cell then ultimately around 108Wh/cell.

As an example, let say they use a pack 216s*6p = 1296 cells:
Currently that would make usable capacity ~115kWh
At 99.4Wh that becomes 120.2kWh
At 108Wh that becomes 130.4kWh

Don't quote my efficiency but assume we get 2.87 mi/kWh with the weight of 1296 cells in the dual motor:

115kWh = 330 miles
120.2kWh = 345 miles
130.4kWh = 374 miles

Early units should be priced with this in mind as well. When you go to sell your early production cybertruck in 3-5 years, someone might be able to buy a new one with 13% more range at a lower price then what you bought new.

I believe 1 fully ramped cybertruck line is good for 250k. Installed capacity is not fully ramped capacity. If cybertruck pricing is competitive and creates demand for a second line, we could see ramps as follows. We are expecting a slow ramp of line 1 within ~16 months. The 3 examples below show what total output could be based on when a 2nd line is started.

Considering Elon's PTSD from the great financial crisis and model 3 ramp, I would guess production would follow the first chart if demand is there for 500k trucks per year. As a guess, besides cybertruck ramp, they will also be ramping the Next Gen Platform somewhere in the early 2025 time frame as line 1 of cybertruck is nearing capacity.
