I don't think the word "unlimited" (range) means what you think it means.
It means “they purchased the seat-heater option”

If you need to tow long distance, this seems like a good temporary (3-8 years...?) solution. There's also a huge need for RV travel trailers, cargo trailers, etc. to put aerodynamic efficiency as design principle #1.

Hopefully Tesla Semi has an impact on long-range non-commercial towing, powered by EVs.

Amen!
I’d like a coal bin and load chute on mine. I can shovel me some electric on the cheap around here.
Well technically anything made from the sun is renewable right? Right? ;)

I remember perusing the German Renewable policy (EEG) in the early 00's, which was actually one of the main catalysts for solar and RE worldwide, and in there the definition for renewable and bio-fuels was so broad that you could technically make the argument that even fossil fuel was renewable, because it simply did not include a time constraint, of a million years or so to store energy from the sun.

But if you do actually want to use coal for firing up some electrons to charge your EV, then at least use pyrolysis to extract the hydrocarbons as a gas first, so it doesn't produce as much particulate emissions. Woodgas is also another good alternative, that uses timber but a similar principle. There used to be a lot of woodgas powered cars in WW2. Chuck some timber in and off you go, my pop had a fleet of them.

Q: What came first, diesel engine, or diesel fuel? Gasoline engine or gasoline fuel?

Both of these engines existed before fossil fuel was a thing, and both were designed to run of biofuels, canola oil and ethanol respectively.

If you go to the Mercedes museum in Stuttgart you can actually see pictures of people with pitchforks chasing the cars out of town because they thought the loud noises they made were possessed.

Just throw your gas generator in the back of the CT and you got the same thing.

I don't know if it is different in the US, but in Canada you can't even put a deposit down. All you can do is give them your email and they will notify you when reservations start so who knows when or what will be eventually offered. It's easy to make promises, hard to deliver.
