Boutique truck for fancy lads? Comparing the CT blade cost to your BMW is making the point clear. This truck is not for truck people.
This truck absolutely is for truck people. The amount of plumbers, welders, electricians, framers, farmers, etc. you will see fighting to get one will change your mind.

Right… put “independently wealthy” in front of any of those titles and the list gets rediculously small. Truck people care about money / won’t be buying this thing.

I will - but I am an executive. Market for this thing is much smaller with the major price adjustments.

Then you don't understand the average blue collar contractor that has good business sense ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This truck, and it's utility, is going to have a crazy low TCO compared to literally anything on the market.

right…. If you want to understand the future tco, compare this thing to the original top end model s or x. Will plummet in value near 100k miles and make the gas trade off look like Pennies. This ain’t a model 3

I hope those steering actuators last the life of the vehicle. Never had to replace a rack and pinion on any of my vehicles ever and it would have been a fraction of that cost. I doubt steer by wire is worth it off they need to be replaced.

Dudes, this is really great news!! $1900 for that gigantic windshield?! $260 to replace the side glass?!

The insurance for this has no excuse but to be cheaper than other vehicles. I'm probably going to call USAA right off the bat and ask them to analyse this truck and lower the price to cover it.
USAA provides my car insurance also. Super interested in what their rate will be in a couple years when my reservation pops up.

Dude. The average price for a truck in America is 65k. Not far from where the RWD sits.
Almost every contractor in my area (rural Maryland) has a huge and expensive truck. Something north of 70k. So, the CT is definitely in the pricing wheelhouse and has more cool features than the trucks they drive now.
Watch them line up once they see it first hand.

The difference? Diesel trucks go a million miles, these will plummet in value at 100k

So good enough for Great Lakes snow or will we still need to swap out for real winter tires?

Disagree. I priced out a similar Ford F150L at just under $80k. Not any difference in cost from the dual motor Cybertruck. And for those who qualify for federal and state tax credits, the price can decrease by $10k+ ($67,500 for tax rebate eligible Colorado buyers). Compare this to $63k for a 2024 Tundra (Limited, minimal options). Add in fuel and petrolum-based maintenance items for any ICEmobile and the cost is similar, if not higher.

If you want a truck, you gotta pay to play.

ok, now you're just being a silly goose...
Show me on of those p100d ludicrous models s’s that retailed for $130k. Oh - wait, my wife drives one. Bought used with 30k miles for $50k dollars. Don’t buy a Tesla to save money.
