Can someone please explain what they mean by “real world” range?

I mean, in terms that are meaningful to anyone

Because “real world” range around town is clearly infinite.

“Real world” for even ‘near town’ is effectively infinite.

“real world” is eg 318mi (AWD) if the trip is at an overall average of conditions of EPA combined testing (eg 55% city at avg 18mo, and 45% Hwy at avg 48mph), which represents a statistical mid-case for ‘real world’ conditions/speeds

separately, there appears to be instead a forum on the “real world” where someone hood on a hey and does an average of eg 68mph for 200mi straight

admittedly, that is a “real world” scenario - but, statistically, not a frequent one for the majority of drivers

My model Y Performance supposedly tops out at 279 miles and I have never once had a single issue with that range. I have a charger at home, which helps a lot, so unless I'm going really far out of town I don't ever worry about topping off.

Don't forget that Tesla also optimizes over time with OTA updates and if you run the vehicles in chill mode you get 10% to 15% more range out of it. I switched my Y to chill most of the time and I average ~309 Wh/m which is pretty great. I wonder if the CT tests are being done on lower settings since it really does impact range tremendously.

I feel like a lot of this is just knee jerk reactions to limited data.

The dual motor actually exceeded their range from 2019. Take issue with price. But you can’t with range unless you ordered Tri-motor.. then you can stay mad if that makes your life better
*sigh*

We're not going to be able to get anything off the ground if trolls like you are totally incapable of telling the truth.

250 miles range was not what was advertised at the reveal.

Respectfully, just because you are willing to tolerate lackluster range doesn't mean that everyone wants to.

If the Cybertruck is only getting 250 mi range right now, it'll only be worse when you try to tow or carry any sort of payload.

250 mi range is extremely limiting for a vehicle that is supposed to be meant for off-road and carrying recreational vehicles in the bed.

thank you for making clear that I am not manipulating, and instead that you just have no clue how electric vehicles work or are advertised.

The moment that the number 320 was flashed on the screen as a singular range number, you should’ve known everything you’re now upset about.

What was not flashed on the screen? “320 miles in sustained highway driving, your mileage will not vary depending on conditions.”

this basic stuff

[sarcastic sigh] do you know how EVs work (driving highways at 70mph, in colder weather, on all-terrain tires)? Or do you even know that EPA number and what it means? Can some people help me out here? I don’t know how this is what is causing a meltdown

What exactly does one want to get started? Is this going to turn into a college sit in with chains and glue to floor unless demands met?

And I read all of your sad apologies for Tesla in the voice of a sub gimp asking that Elon shove it in a little bit deeper and harder.

You are one absolutely pathetic troll.

Both disturbing and disgusting that your thought process lead you to think that, and follow through with typing it out with your fingers on a keyboard for the rest of the world to see.

Most of these folks experience this each and every day regarding efficiency. Yet they all thought Tesla put magic fairy dust in the Cybertruck batteries. Realizaton after watching Youtube. Behaves the same way. What?

Please all of you go out and charge your S,E,X, and sometimes Y to 100% and drive 70 this time of year and the same thing happens. You all mad now. For no reason other than hopium.
