Wow, that's crazy and definitely a messy factory delivery. I am glad you rejected it.

Question: If you reject delivery, do you get placed in the back of the line to get your next one? Or do you still maintain your place in line and are able to get another one delivered "soon"?
I'm not sure how long it would take but they said they can put you back in line to get a VIN. So you're not back in line to get the truck as though you had just put in a reservation.

The true answer is that zero people who you can communicate with at tesla know. If you reject it, and they had allotted 8 or 10 at a certain location, they will give it to the next person. Then you have to wait for the next batch of them to show up, which could be.... whenever. They aren't going to change the shipping schedule because someone rejected a truck.

Somewhere like cali, you might be okay. Somewhere like cleveland? could be quite a while.

TLDR: Even if you get first dibs on the next one that will arrive at your tesla location, they won't be able to tell you when the next one will arrive at that specific location.

Both were from Tesla. First loan was approved on 12/19 and it ran out on 2/4. Renewed yesterday and got 6.49%.

I have bought 3 cars from Tesla and using my own loan the one time was horrific. So much easier financing through Tesla. Even if you can get a lower rate, I would finance through Tesla and then refinance.
Gracias amigo! Good to know!

How come some get a smoke and light show and others get a truck with dirt and obvious scratches?
I don't know which dealerships do it and doesn't seem like they all do, but I did specifically tell them I wasn't interested in any fanfare type stuff. I just wanted them to focus on the truck, that it was clean and didn't have any issues.

I ended up going today but I passed on it. There were several light scratches and then one deeper scratch on the right rear panel. They said they can't fix those. They have to sand it down and then you can always see where they sanded it down.

There were marks on the driver door panel where the suction cups may have been and it looks like maybe they tried to clean them. They didn't look like the clear outlines of suction cups like I've seen in some pictures, just big dark areas.

There were some alignment issues with the metal trim that goes above both doors and there was also water inside the storage compartment in the bed and in the outlet inside the bed, both have rubber seals. Someone got too aggressive with the power washer maybe.

On the right side of the front trunk, there was also a larger gap when you can see the rubber underneath. The left side looked good but if you moved it to make the right look good then the left side would be off. I tried to see if it had the little adjustable rubber feet that I've seen on other trunk lids but they looked fixed.

They were without power by the time I got there but they said they washed the truck but it had all sorts of debris from trees all over the truck and I couldn't even really tell what other marks it may have had other than the few I found. Very disappointing. There was mud underneath and there was also rust coming out of where the hubcap or the center cap would go. I'm sure that's from the brake pads but it looks pretty bad. That's how they want to deliver it to me.

Not sure how folks are going to deal with this ongoing but a good amount of the debris was in between the metal and the top and back of the truck from beginning to end. I wouldn't recommend parking it under anything that has small leaves or debris of any kind.

I'm not sure if they left the window open or something, they did wipe down most of it but in the cup holders behind the headrests in the back side panels inside, there's a nice layer of dirt/dust.

Thank you sooooo much for this information! I am in the same boat. My loan approval is about to expire and unfortunately my new mortgage is about to put a dent in my report and that means like a 100pt drop, likely keeping me from getting the entire thing financed and having to come up with cash, or getting denied even. Tesla rep made me feel like an idiot for applying for the credit, said I should of waited...I told him they sent me a notification saying I needed to apply to not delay the delivery...I'm trying not to complain, but for the premium this hasn't been a super fun experience for my first big splurge of my life. I can't help I'm a nerd who wants an ugly truck, and Elon just so happened to fund the project.

so... most people are getting their CTs revealed to them behind smoke machines and fully detailed, and you're telling me this is how the delivery center presented the vehicle to you? I'm having some trouble believing this... They had no power and did not delay delivery even? Were all the reps on meth?

My thought as well. Makes no sense. It’s one thing to gloss over the details, it’s a whole other thing to present you with a garbage dump. I’m not a social media guy, but this is a scenario where, if true, I’d be reaching out to anyone at Tesla, because it's beyond unacceptable.

Where would you suggest he reach out to tesla? Which method of contact would get him in touch with someone who knows anything, and has the power to do anything about it?

Maybe I should’ve been more descriptive. Social media. I’d hit up anyone and everyone from Omar to Sawyer to Fred to Franz to Elon. Like I said, not a social media guy, but I’m confident if you message enough people that are closer to the inner circle, the bigger response you will get.

Now that being said, I’m not sure I buy this is how the car was presented, but crazier things have happened.
