I've taken it to the beach by Starbase and SpaceX a couple of times, and it is exceptionally easy to drive on the sand with a dedicated off road mode for it. I've come across pickups and Jeeps that were stuck in the deep sand, and I was able to drive right through without an issue. (They were already being towed out, so don't criticize me for sailing right past them!).
It makes me wonder if in its current state the cybertruck is just much more adept at sandy terrain than many ICE 4x4s, and on rocky terrain the 4x4s still have an advantage. hopefully that changes once diff locking gets activated...

I've had the Cybertruck for one week now, and here are the unexpected things I've encountered so far...

The range is also excellent. I averaged 408 Wh/mile over 750 miles of mixed driving.
Thanks for this metric. 408 Wh/m = 2.5 miles/kwh * 124 kWh battery size = 310 miles of range.

Good to hear, thanks.
The CT may not be as energy efficient as ICE, but I've been waiting to hear from careful drivers.
Specifically, looking forward to reports from careful drivers towing 7000lb, say driving 50mph. See if/how much we can improve the reported 100ish towing range.

When you asked a question, did he just say: figure it out!
My niece just picked up a Model Y and they had no interactions with the delivery center. They finished it up and the app and drove away.

Tesla is a different company.

I was in the service center that would handle delivery of my Cybertruck.

He said that I will get a full walk through to familiarize myself with the operations and features of the truck.

I was even invited to test drive other models in the lot to have a feel of the EV. I just said my daughter and husband have a Y and S Plaid.

Curious if yours has the motor whine noticed in some videos? I don't mind hearing it some, but hopefully it's nothing like the old Model S drivetrain like the loaners all had...
Haven’t noticed any loud motor whine. The noise I can hear from the motors sounds terrific.

Your comments on reaction from the public mirrors mine exactly.

Public reactions have been overly positive. Lots of selfie taking. Some people would ask if they can take photos. Others do it steathily, but you can see them.

Many ppl driving by on freeway have rolled down their window to give thumbs up as they drive by. So I wave hello in return.

Numerous ppl don't know what a Cybertruck is or even heard of it. A number of lifted truck owners actually happy to see the CT in real life. And enthusiastic about it's existence.

Be prepare to leave stores and seeing crowds around the park truck. You can either approach and interact. Or take a couple of walks around the store until you see an opening for escape. I sometime use the sentry mode feature to give a look around the truck to know when to leave the store.

Be prepare for people to roll up next to you in traffic... even blocking lane while rolling down their window. That means they want to chat. Especially at stop lights. I could never non chalantly impede traffic to have a chat. But some people do that without a care in the world.

Right now there are about 10 DeLoreans for every Cybertruck delivered.

It will be a long time before Cybertrucks are considered commonplace.
Wow I didn't know there were that many still around... Never ever see one out now, but I knew someone a few years ago who had two, but wouldn't sell me one of them because he basically kept the extra one for parts. Actually I think he was trying to locate a third wrecked one at the time to rebuild the second...

Bizzare, parts are readily available at https://store.delorean.com/ for just about anything. They even buy junkers and fully restore them.

There were about 10,000 made, hard to say how many remain.

Once, I pulled up next to a Tesla Roadster, we were checking each other out lol. There were only about 2500 of those made!

When I was at 407 Wh/mile over 500 miles travelled, there was probably 30% driving at 65 mph. The other miles were in town.

I just drove 11 hours today, mostly highway at 70 mph, and about 40% at speeds between 75-85 mph. Averaged 500 Wh/mile. Still pretty impressive efficiency to me. My M3P averages 420 Wh/mi the way I drive it… not too far off! ?
