Tesla has never needed them before during ramp.

And it's not unusual for there to not be test drives for pre-ordered or low-availability vehicles to not be offered as test drives.

Well, due to this, I will wait until I can sit in one and test-drive it. As I said before, I have bought a new 2017 Tesla S, I love my S. I have NEVER been told, and I am 63, that I must take the order or lose the money down when I set up to get a Vin. If they said I have the right to not buy if I do not like the truck when I do get to see it, I would be okay. PS, my S fell under the first 200,000 I DID get a test drive.

And that was ~4 years after production began. There will probably be test drives available in 2027.

with all due respect... I'm afraid you gonna wait a looong time. you can go and practice that attitude at Ferrari dealership and see how it goes
if you are dead serious about MUST buy CT and MUST test drive it before, there is a simple solution - Turo. I had people rent my M3 on Turo for 2-3 days to get a feel, to let wife ease into it ?

you can go and practice that attitude at Ferrari dealership and see how it goes. Good thing, I think they are ugly, I appreciate the info on Toro. I just sat in a ZO6 Corvette; yes, I just sat in it and it felt GREAT, so they might get my money, no ride yet. But they are working on it. I have my 2017 S, I bought it new and love it. No ride no buy attitude is what they get. I do, however, thank you for your input.

I can understand not reading EULAs, they're basically contracts of adhesion. But the deposit language was quite clear.

I am not saying anything about the EULAs, this is a Choice. I am saying that since they decided to go this way, I might be dropping out for a Corvette ZO6, and yes, I do read. I have a very nice size company that affords me these types of toys. I read rules, I read contracts, I deal with disputes and I can keep going on, so Crissa, you are being rude for Zero reasons ( you ASSUMED I didn't ). I have a company that is an ISO 9001 company, so I kind of need to deal with this stuff. You actually just helped me make my decision. I am dropping out, so you can have at it with this truck. It sure seems as if this truck might be Unlucky. You are more welcome to waste more of your time telling people what you think. So I did as well. Good luck with the truck. Tesla just lost a customer who spent plenty for my S in 2017. There are some GREAT rules in business, it is easier to keep a customer than find a new loyal one. assuming is always the start of this type of conversation. I rarely do this to anyone, but hey, everyone has a trigger.

This has nothing to do with ISO 9001 which is, BTW, bullshit meaningless. As I've been brought on to do ISO compliance at a company before (who hires a temp database programmer to do that near minimum wage? Oh, it's because it's meaningless? I see...)

Once again, Crissa from California, answers a lot. I DID NOT put down 1000 bucks (you wouldn't make it in my company, you assume too much ). My company is ISO, and it is a GREAT thing for companies, I guess if you are doing ISO and talk that way. How little you know, that's because you think you know it all. That covers it doesn't California person. PS- I di cancel, I lost nothing but the pain so many are having due to issues. Everything, until you were rude, was just talking to others; you took it further. Move on person. I still have my 1000, and I get my 100 back; I find the problems with this truck make it not worth buying, and I am sure that upsets the fan-person you are. So good luck when you get yours. You are such a confused person.

Then what the heck do you have to complain about? Nothing has changed in almost six months for those of us waiting for the regular editions of the trucks.

Also, what does me living in California have to do with you reading the agreement? Or meaningless ISO standards that exist for executives to say they've done something without doing anything?

I was so close to cancelling my Beast order. The very reason I didn’t do it is because of all the great things I learnt about the truck from this forum. I really want to test drive, but if people like me who enjoy driving are applauding Cybertruck’s incredible driving experience, it makes sense to take their comments on face value. I can either be mad at Tesla for not letting us test drive, and I’m mad about it, or trust what real owners are saying. Media and some social influencers are not credible source. They have hidden agenda to increase click count, so they knowingly or unknowingly say controversial things. In addition, the first version of any vehicle will have minor issues and recalls. Hope someone still remembers the story when Model Y roof fell off. Now every other Tesla car I see is Model Y. Cybertruck will be a big hit IMO. They have to keep the price same or lower and increase production like crazy. I badly want Tesla to stop this ridiculous FS invites and just increase the ramp up further. Producing 1000 trucks per week is not enough. To meet the current demand, they probably need 1000 per day, and that’s why they are not letting people test drive. They don’t want more orders and more disappointments. They will lose potential loyal customers otherwise; nevertheless, it’s sad to lose current loyal customers as well.

The smart thing (in my humble opinion) is to lease a R1T for 3 years (they have great deals) and then get CT once all the issues have been resolved and pricing etc. is all standardized.

But of course, when you want the CT, then all logic goes out the window I had to make the same decision when Tesla came out with AP2 on Model S in 2016. I had option to get Model S with AP1 (mobileeye) and it was being heavily discounted. But I am so glad I went with AP2 - had to live thru 1 - 2 years of bugs/issues, but at this time I have upgraded cameras/FSD/...
