Maybe instead of gas use a propane generator .As the propane can be used for other camping activities .

I don’t think it’s that foolish . Camping in wild places and off road to get there can use a lot more power than expected …
Generally propane is nice - no smell, no spills, no water in the carb, no degradation. Can be used to run a cook stove and a space heater, like you suggested. The primary concern which may be applicable here is if propane gets cold enough, it may be difficult to get it out of the cylinder.

I don’t see it as foolish at all . I see it as a great insurance policy when camping so you don’t need to worry about running out of power.
My camping time per year is very minimal compared to my general use of my electric truck . So an electric truck is for me … and I can go camping with it as well …

If you do it often enough, may be worth it to go with a real diesel setup. Probably could make money on the side by providing site power to various projects/events too.

So, we should only camp within 50%* of our worst case range of a Supercharger?
Or only at sites with power that allow EV charging?

*(Ignoring the power usage one's style of camping may require and standby losses)

And only in the Summer time with the ambient temperatures near ideal 20C.

There are many overland trails out west that require a supplement to grid charging if you drive an EV. Getting an extra 40 miles of range from a generator and 20lbs of propane can make a big difference in where you can go, and peace of mind comes with having an emergency backup power source. I use a dual fuel generator so I can also use gasoline if necessary. Although not my preferred fuel, gasoline is easier to come by than propane in remote areas.

It's not any more foolish than owning an electric truck at a time in history when majority of electricity comes from fossil fuels. One has to work around the technology limitations. As the technology changes, fewer limitations will require such workarounds.

Do any of the KOA campgrounds offer EV charging?

Ahh, yes!
I must add... Tesla doesn't have an optimal charging adapter solution for that use case at this time - RV parks often have a choice between 30A@120V and 50A@240V... Mobile adapter can do 32A@240 max, so one won't maximize the charging rate. May need to bring the whole wall adapter to pop it into the Nema 14-50 and pull 42A@240V, or use an aftermarket charging adapter.
