It's happening to me as well. I was able to get a video this morning. Please keep me updated on your repair!

I hate to say it you possibly have the same problem.

The question is are they replacing them with the same kind or updated versions?

You know this truck will be great 3 years from now, early adopters always pay the price lol

Maybe they'll replace them with whole shafts? ?
I hope so lol. All kidding aside. There have been lots of reports of them breaking with mainly stripped teeth to the hub. Instead of the conventional design where the teeth go through inside the hub.

On the cybertruck the teeth sit on the side and the bolt holds it all together Look bellow. ( its a bad design in my opinion since the minute the bolt comes lose it will strip the axel and hub)

TBF, there are plenty of disasters that a triggered by a single loose bolt

Yeah agreed. Sounds like this could be a eventual when rather than an if for most early cybertruck owners. Please keep us updated on your repair! Kind of sucks you can't reliably test the fix after replacement until enough time has passed.

Update: I picked up the truck and the noise is gone. Tesla has an official fix they have an all-new beef-up new Tri-motor Half Shaft that will be used for both AWD and CYBERBEAST, they have confirmed that most of the leaks happen to AWDs (weaker Part) and this part is a lot more robust than what was used on both models.

Tech said my truck was the first to get it at that location Yay talk about timing!

The part number is listed below.

It really sucks when you take your vehicle to the Tesla SC WITH a recent video of the problem, yet they won't do anything about it because "they can't replicate it." Frustrating and had it happen a couple times to me.

Yeah I've had a few poor experiences with other service centers and found one that actually listens and takes my concerns seriously. Hope you can find another service center or another tech that'll work with you

It really does, and most of the time the truck just sits in the parking lot they don't put the effort in to find the problem. It took a patient tech to actually research the problem and inspect the suspension to find the issue.

Shout-out to @Horizonvangogh for pointing me to the right direction.

Great news and thanks for update.

It makes you wonder how many other Cybertruck parts have been redesigned since the truck went on sale over a year ago. Wiper motor? Overhead gear shift module retaining clips? Electric motors? Inverters?

I heard that noise for the 1st time 2 days ago, driving out of a parking lot making a sharp left turn and pitching down a hill. Never heard it before and haven’t heard it since. Will have them check on my next appointment.
Exact same for me too. First time was two days ago. Going downhill, half left leaving a parking lot at low speed. I was able to replicate it.

Glad I found this thread as I have something to help the SC with.

I have had a similar experience with the "stuttering" effect in our parking ramp at work when leaving however it only has happened when very cold outside (say <20 F) and only in the first turn of the ramp and nothing thereafter. The CT does have a brake wiping feature but the manual suggests it also needs to be wet conditions which it has not been but maybe that's what's happening and sort of feels like on an exaggerated basis.

Also we have salt everywhere here from winter road conditions so not sure if there are some parts seizing a bit that's causing the behavior. Will monitor this thread for developments.
I believe you are describing something completely different, and not abnormal. I’m pasting something below that I replied with in another thread a few weeks ago:

This is only felt if the batteries are cold and regen is limited while slowing to a stop with cold brakes, generally first thing in the morning. The somewhat new (in the last few years) option to have the manual brakes kick in if regen is limited kind of hides that fact that regen is in fact limited, but what your feeling is pulsating cold manual friction brakes at low speed. You can recreate this yourself manually by turning off the setting on the “dynamics” tab “apply brakes when regenerative braking is limited”. If you turn this off when the battery is cold, you’ll see a dashed line on the bottom side of the accel/decel indication on the far left of the upper screen while driving. When this dashed line is present, you’ll have to use the friction brakes manually to come to a complete stop. If you apply them ever so slowly when they’re cold, you can feel this very slight pulsating.
