Curious to know if anybody has experience with changing the height of the panel. There's a nut under the panel that raises the height to help with panel gaps/alignment. When the nut is turned to adjust the height is the panel carrier moving with the panel? From what I can see from videos it appears only the panel is moving and you would think that depending on the time interval from glue application to panel adjustment with the nut it might play a role?

Some have a nut for the stud, but I don't see anything about height adjustments.

I might misunderstood the function. This is a stretch, but what are forums good for if not guessing about things we have no clue about lol.

If the glue is applied and panel adjustments are made before it's cured I assume that could impact the bond?

Part should be fully cured before assembly to the vehicle. Glue film is 0.01" or so.

I did also wonder if the nut had some height set function.

My 5 cents...

My experience with these (I call them Roof Lines) is this - earlier VINs had very inconsistent quality. Mine (VIN 2702) for example are a bit flimsy, and I've seen people (who came for a wrap) where they were even worse (again - early VINs, like below 10,000 although I am making that # up - I don't know the exact VIN where it changes).
Then at some point, Tesla changed something and I've seen a lot of CTs delivered in the past several months (VIN after 30,000) where these are ROCK SOLID. I don't see them falling off to be honest unless it was just a manufacturing issue on a specific individual CT (this is of course possible, mistakes happen, manufacturing is tricky). I still see inconsistencies in how they chamfer them and how they are positioned, by several millimeters, but in terms of stability - they are rock solid nowadays and I've wrapped quite a few CTs so my sample size is pretty decent.
I was told by the SC that a (second) redesigned part is rolling out for these roof lines. Mine are misaligned and they’re going to fix them when the new new part is available. Also, i have a wrap and it’s cold here and mine are still on. Less than 30,000 VIN. For anyone’s anecdotal extrapolation needs.

It does seem like a silly build decision to use glue. I’m not saying I have a better idea just seems interesting. I wonder if this has happened on a truck that is not wrapped. All the ones I have seen with this issue are wrapped.

Edit: I see the post here and it is not wrapped. Bummer.
All other manufacturers use glue to hold the side of the bed on. Some fender parts, ect. Just an FYI. They don't fall off though.
