I am curious on how much mileage is reduced... I know the weight isn't bad, but how does it do aerodynamically at highway speeds? Anyone?

You will have to be brand specific if you are interested in one of them. Each one is built slightly differently. Some of them talk about aerodynamics on their pages.

When I was researching RTT campers heavily, the best range hit that I saw was 10% for a Gofast on a Rivian (very optimized and compact, Gofast has a video about this). The worst that I saw was ~30% for a Tune on a Rivian (this build looked roomy but kind of a one-size-fits-all). There were a lot of builds that had very square edges (Oru, etc).

From what I've seen most RTT builds have a range hit in the low teens (13-15%). I'm sure just a topper will be a bit better.

If you watch any of Teslatinos videos, you see the range impact just really isn't too big of an issue. Tesla has an excellent charging network! I can confirm as we did road trips with a Chevy Bolt (CCS) back in 2019... Oh boy...

450 Wh/mi in summer and 473 Wh/mi in California winter at a 70 mph cruise control.

523 Wh/mi in winter at 75 MPH — with spare tire under the rack.
Tesla Cybertruck Bed Rack is 🔥 🔥🔥 1745003403613-79

The power hit was someone else. I recently drove a 577 mile round trip and measured an overall 523 Wh/mi. On another 430 mile round trip I got an overall efficiency of 532 Wh/mi with very strong cross winds which will negatively affect range. These numbers compare to 432 Wh/mi overall prior to install the bed rack and tent, so, about 17% loss of efficiency at highway speeds (75 mph).

The one shown in that comparison is our very first prototype, which we used just for initial test fitting and R&D.

Here’s the production version, shown on Teslatino’s same truck. Just wanted to share the updated look!

It does look good. Saw it at CHATTANOOGA CHARGE a few weeks ago.

I've not done any extensive long range testing yet, but multiple short or around town trips have been between 10 and 20%. With decent winds it really seems to hurt. Going 70+ mph was also very noticeable. I’ve got a long range trip soon to really find out.

Which are completely negated once you put a rooftop tent on it. Especially a tall one!

Question to @Urander and @CYBERTRUCKco : are those racks horizontal? I'm asking because in some of the photos it is not obvious. CT has the CyberTent mode and it levels the car, but if the rack is not horizontal, then it does not make a lot of sense...

Yes! Our platform on top is aligned parallel with the L-track in the bed. Also, if you want to close the Tonneau cover while in CyberTent mode, just activate Jack Mode under Service, then turn off CyberTent mode. That way, you’ll be able to close the Tonneau cover while the rooftop tent stays level - perfect for safety and a good night’s sleep.
