it’s either gone, or they’ve been disabling/obscuring it to save some oomf for the reveal

seems few or all of the prototypes of late have had some or all of their lighting disabled/uninstalled
I dont think I have ever seen Tesla obscure anything.

Speak for yourself, silly.

I'm not saying their won't be silly people using such a heavy-duty vehicle to commute to work or transport people and a few groceries on a daily basis, but that already happens with most of the gas-guzzling trucks in America. What I'm saying is not everyone is that dumb. So speak for yourself.

No way could I give up my Performance Model 3 just because I have a Cybertruck ready for the call of duty!

They obscured the windows to the casting section at Giga Texas.
On their vehicles. They probably learned their lesson about building a glass factory. It just doesnt make sense.

oh!

In that case, please share with us all relevant specifications (incld MSRP, options, ) of the CyberTruck

I’ve been silly, thinking I don’t know those things yet bc Tesla obscures them from public consumption until a Tesla is ready to unveil

Thrilled to know that’s not the case!

Wow. I have never seen Tesla physically obscure features on their vehicles like the original post I replied to suggested. They suggested that they may be obscuring the lightbar.

so you’re also guaranteeing there is no tailgate ramp?

“obscuring” the light bar until unveil only means … making sure until unveil no one turns it on in public (if it exists)

or drops the tailgate ramp (if it exists)

more rolls down the rear window (if that exists)

etc etc

I don’t understand what you’re even getting ar

‘I was being a bit sarcastic in my above reply in case it wasn’t clear. Though I have to say, it’s still a preproduction vehicle. Don’t take it as gospel that Final is spot on this.

First off the CT bed is already hard to reach into and that rack exacerbates that issue.
Try reaching into the side of the bed of my bone stock 2010 F-150 4x4. Unless you are unusually tall, you can't do it. The Cybertruck can lower its suspension for loading/unloading and has a built-in ramp so you can walk right into the bed. Climbing into the bed of my stock 4x4 is a real grunt and I'm 6'-04".

I was recently loading huge rounds of 150 year old Douglas Fir into my F-150 and they were at the limit of what I could handle in terms of weight and height of the bed. No way could I lift one of them by myself, and I was working alone. So I had to put one of them flat on the ground at the end of the open tailgate so I could rotate the rounds on top of that, before rotating them into the bed. Once they were in the bed, I could roll them into the desired position. I had to save the heaviest ones for last since each round I loaded compressed the springs a bit and made the next one a little easier to load. I was wishing I could just drop the suspension to the most compressed position to make loading more possible. The Cybertruck is a real game-changer with the ability to lower the bed for loading heavy items and raising it for clearing uneven ground.

Next, a major use if not the main use of racks is to get stuff on the truck that is significantly longer than the bed. This rack support is the same length as the bed. So you maybe get 10’ stuff on there with 2ish feet unsupported.
There is no 2-foot unsupported limit. Have you ever used a rack to transport long beams, 16' lumber or 20' kayaks? I have and the rack displayed by the Cybertruck could handle all of the above subject to weight restrictions. The forward crossbar is well forward of the center of the truck, which means it can carry stuff at least as long as the truck itself.

Sometimes a pen should just remain a pen. Shovels do not need to be redesigned. Those things are butt ugly. Franz needs to tone down his need to design everything in "giga" style.
Shovels are constantly being redesigned. Depends on the surface, the amount and hardness, the aggregate concentration, the stickiness, the type of hole and volume you need to dig...

I have two Centurians, a clay shovel, a flat loading shover, a post hole shovel, utility shovels, a collection of trowels and garden ('lady' shovels), a clam shovel; plus picks in one, three, narrow, bladed; and soil tools like hoes, rakes, even a hula.

When you need to make a trench, it really depends on what's in the soil and what you can get to the site.

-Crissa

Oh, and I forgot some of these are power shovels and others are hand tools. My big reciprocal uses SDS-plus bits and we call it 'squarepusher'.

I have seen F-650s that have never towed a thing and never been on anything other than asphalt, cement, and gravel.
I have seen parking lots with a high percentage of trucks, and half have no dents, no scratches, and look regularly waxed.
Maybe it is your area? But you do not sell that many vehicles just for work. You have to hit both the fleet and the lifestyle.

4 years ago I had both a nice F150 for regular use, and a manual 2dr Jeep Rubicon that never met its doors or top.

I looked up the TX custom plates site, surprised to find that both of these plates were available:

ALLHAT

NOCATTL

Immediately purchased both plates, feeling they’d look great parked side-by-side in the driveway.

A week later I was sent a rejection notice, on grounds of the plates being “indecent, vulgar or derogatory”

A fella can’t even be self-deprecating?!
