Often this time of year there is enough wind and waves that come over the bow of the ferry and people's vehicles get drenched with saltwater. How will this affect the stainless steel body. For this reason, and the seagull poop, I'm considering a wrap when I finally get a CT. BTW, did you know the real reason for the slow down in Cybertruck sales? It's not what you think, it's wives.

I wonder if a ceramic coating would be enough for this

vehicles get drenched with saltwater
Stainless is susceptible to chlorines, including most salts (NaCl etc.). So that's not great, but it'll be fine if you wash it periodically and don't park it directly in the ocean.

Even if prolonged exposure alters the finish, passivating with mild acid should rectify it.

BONUS: dissolve the salt with lime juice, rinse with tequila, and get free margaritas!

I left a heavy coating of road salt on mine for several weeks this winter and it washed right off with no noticeable effect. There were a few rust specks that also came off with a little extra rubbing. They were probably from bits of metal thrown up from the road with the salt dirt, etc. I don’t leave bird droppings on long because I can’t stand the looks. But I haven’t noticed any etching or whatever from them. Seagulls? I’ll let you know after I get back from the Outer Banks later this summer. ?. Can’t wait to drive out on the beach, sit in the frunk with a cold beer and watch the waves roll in.

pfft... Every day, my wife asks to trade cars for the day (she drives a model3). I got my truck tinted on Saturday, and I've only gotten to drive the truck once since.... Butts in seats is what converts the peoples.

You’ll have a blast! The CT is great on the sand. I’ve lived here for 20 years, driven many vehicles on the beach and the Cybertruck is the best. Just remember to air your tires down to 36 psi, doesn’t matter what you drive you need to increase that contact patch size so that you get a float effect on the sand. Finish problems are not an issue. Just regular washing is fine.

Thx! We have gone to Ocracoke almost every summer for many years. I have driven my Chevy Silverado 4x4 on the sand with no problems BUT always air down. Had a sticker on it saying “Don’t be a clown, air down.” Have looked forward to taking the CT to the beach since I ordered one several years ago. As I said, can’t wait!

Based on my experience with a winter's worth of NJ road salt - and there was a lot of salt - there is no impact to the stainless at all as long as you clean it off periodically. Wash it off with soap and water or hit it with Sprayway and wipe. It's really the easiest vehicle to keep clean and looking minty fresh.

Was in Pismo Beach over the weekend and was surprised to see another CyberTruck there playing along the shore.

Core Wheels with All-weather tires are quite capable..

I however I don’t like cleaning sand from anything, not even my toes, so I simply watched from the sidelines.
