Hi community. Like most of you, I've had my truck now for over a year and love it. I've come to terms that we'll always get positive and negative reacts but the negative is starting to take a toll. I always tell my sons 'you have to have thick skin driving something so new and radical,' and for the most part, I'm unfazed. However, I did start to lose my cool when this asshat (Road Island Lic: 1RQ 881) following me for over an hour from NH to MA would speed up to give me the 'thumbs down,' fall back, then do it again, a dozen+ times. He also kept getting really close to my passenger side (while doing 75mph) while my 6 yr old was in the back. Not safe or cool. Now I realize it's just the thumbs down sign (over and over!) but i just wanted to do something drastic. Ideas that popped in my head were: i wish i had a bunch of water balloons stacked in the side of my door, chuck a coffee at him, etc... but instead, I just had to keep on drive and take his stupidity. If you have an good thoughts(other than call the police), throw them my way b/c this is going to keep happening and would love to be prepared next time - or I can just be an adult and take the high road (like I did).

Take a quick snack break and never see him again. He obviously got enough of a rise out of you for you to take pictures. You're not going to teach him a lesson in any way that doesn't make the situation even less safe for your family. I just distance myself from aggressive drivers, if he actively tries to pursue you when removing yourself from the situation, then police.

NEVER throw anything at another driver. It's even a felony in some jurisdictions - it is considered a 'missile' and will DEFINITELY land you in very hot water.

Had my share of the same type behavior though it seems to have calmed down these days. All good suggestions above. I wouldn't waste any time on it other than having a good laugh about how cuckoo some people are.

Strange that the risk taking behavior in some states has not subsided by now. No different that road rage, make sure your cams are recording and document everthing in case the situation elevates and you need to dial 911. Interesting that in my neck of the woods this behavior against the CT is rare if any……at least several owners I know (and myself) have not experienced it.

Forcefully make him pull over with your superior vehicle, when he gets out throw a rusty knife on the ground and tell him to pick it up while holding him at gunpoint. Problem solved.

Its a tough spot for sure, but your priorities are in the right place thinking about your family that is in the car with you. In this instance documenting it in the event it gets worse was the right call, and props to you for not escalating it further. It sounds like you may have been justified in calling the police should you choose to do that next time (Not for the thumbs down, but the high speed passes on you over and over)

I've noticed the negative interactions increasing with the warm weather, stay safe out there!
