FWIW I had a chance to look at a brand new lightbar installed last week on a local Cyberbeast for an owner whose first one came off. I did the soldering to connect it up and everything was identical as far as I could tell to my lightbar installed back in March. Physically identical on the outside, same spacing from the windshield as mine (per the install instructions) and I assume they used the correct adhesive etc. because so far it hasn't come loose in the last week. Granted there may be some difference on the inside, but on the outside, it was identical. Wires were the same color, same gauge, activation was the same, functionality the same. If there was a difference between my lightbar and his, we couldn't see one.
TeslaKen please check the V#. I checked on Wednesday with my service center and they are still installing the old versions on hand. I am waiting for them to have V3. They had not seen this new part number yet so it may now be just getting to some service centers.

My light bar is scheduled for 1 September 25. Here is the parts list, note the “V3” for the light bar.

Thanks for the heads-up Redmiata. When you have your Version 3 lightbar installed on September 1st please let us know if you or the technicians installing it see external or internal changes. My service center has not seen V3 yet, but I will be checking for when they do.

I have my replacement for partial loss of adhesion 9/2…there’s a holiday somewhere in there.

The person who I helped silder their light bar last week said that they got V3 which again we found indistinguishable from a V1. Where is everyone else's photos of their V3's? I could have sworn others were getting installed last week or this week.

Last week while in for the recall I was told my OG lightbar (installed right after they first became available) was flagged as "Cybertruck Off-Road Lightbar - due bill", which I misunderstood to be an outstanding balance. I asked them to clear that and that my lightbar worked perfectly and was not loose in any way.

Well they changed out the lightbar anyway, with the replacement listed as V1(1937354-30-A) - note the "30" as that is different than others have noted.

I am seeing no difference between the old and new one in actual use.

Thanks for sharing Avery K12. I started this thread at the beginning of July. It is interesting to see different part #s for the lightbar over time. Maybe they are trying to do something internally inside the lightbar to better thermally protect the adhesive.

I had mine installed May 12th and it’s becoming unglued. I didn’t even know there was an invoice until seeing this thread. I guess I have a v0? Going in next week for repair. And $300 to fix the wind noise from poor window seal, arg.

Got my lightbar installed yesterday, and I had an interesting conversation with the senior service guy. He was telling me the main issue these have is with the promoter, or primer, that they use. Once it is opened it expires in 24 hours and no longer works correctly. They have cases of it now, but it is expensive.
He said that when they initially installed these they had no idea it expired that quickly so they kept using it. When they were talking to corporate about the issues they had seen they were asked if they had checked the expiration date. They didn't know they needed to.
Now they know to throw it away after 24 hours. He said most of the adhesion issues are caused by service centers not knowing this. They have pushed to educate them all and it should happen less now, but he said that is the main reason these have problems. Now they rarely see any issues with the lightbar. Only time will tell. Forgive me if this is common knowledge. I just did not remember seeing it mentioned on here.

I don’t buy that for a second. I know for a fact that my service center did exactly 0 light bars before they did mine last year they told me so themselves (the manager). As such, there’s no way they were using product that had been opened for someone else when they did my install. Unless they use it for more than one process. 🤷🏾

I was one of the first to have it start detaching. I hate to say it but everything you hear from the service center has to be taken with a grain of salt I think people are rightfully speculating what’s wrong but I wish they were more disciplined and better informed.

Looks like he was partially right but not completely. If you read about Betaprime it appears there are two types of Betaprime. One has a shelf life of 3 days once opened and the other has a shelf life of 14 days once opened. Once applied there is a 24 hour period to apply the adhesive or it must be reapplied. I highly doubt they would apply the promoter and then wait 24 hours so I doubt the primer is the issue. That is a short shelf life though.

https://www.richelieu.com/documents/docsGr/117/068/9/1170689/1335735.pdf

After checking Betaseal it does appear to have an open shelf life of 24 hours if not properly purged with nitrogen. I doubt they are nitrogen purging so I would guess this is the 24 hour product he mentioned.

https://dupont.materialdatacenter.com/products/datasheet/US/BETASEAL™%2016100A

This may not be the case for your lightbar. He did say there were techs that didn’t follow process and did a poor job. He listed a few other reasons why they were falling off. He just said the shelf life was the most common cause he knew of. To your point Dalton, after seeing the ridiculous amount of adhesive they use I would think they would need a pretty large tube, or 5 gallon bucket, if they were going to open it and use it on more than one truck. lol.

Just as another sample for the survey, mine is doing fine and lighting the way. I know everyone tends to post when there’s issues, just wanted to balance that out a bit with additional information.

Thanks Interlinked for sharing your experience. When did you have it installed and was it a V3 version. You can check your service notes for the version #.
