NEWS: Tesla's first 500kW Supercharger station in the world is under construction in Campbell, California.

Highlights:
• Faster charging: Supports 400V-1000V vehicle architectures, including 30% faster charging for Cybertruck. S3XY vehicles get 250kW charge rates they already experience on V3 Cabinet — charging up to 200 miles in 15 minutes.
• Faster deployments: V4 Cabinet powers 8 posts, 2x the stalls per cabinet. Lower footprint and complexity = more sites coming online faster.
• Next-generation hardware: Cutting-edge power electronics designed to be the most reliable on the planet, with 3x power density enabling higher throughput with lower costs.

Hooray. Obviously this is because of battery size but at present charging our x feels way faster than charging our truck . Hopefully this will narrow the gap.

This is at Kirkwood plaza, corner W Campbell and San Thomas Aquino.
Last I was there (two weeks ago) green screens were blocking that corner of the parking lot for electrical work. Great location, several stores around it, and a Starbucks close by.

This has been discussed and shown a lot when the 325 kW came out.

It is like 1 minute or 1.5 minutes. It is the charging curve and not the peak that matters.

Oh please. Stop the hype. I've charged my CT at a dozen 350k stations. No faster than a 250k. Charging speed has a dozen factors. One of which is determined by the BMS system. Were you below 10% or at 60%??? I have 2 S'. And CT. Every super charge is different, every time.

I’d rather have a charger that delivers 150kw from 30%to 70% than one that does 300kw for 2 minutes from 20 to 40 and then drops to 75kw
As pointed out above, there is a lot more to this than just max speed.
Is this more a question of the truck or the charger though?

Excited for this. Hopefully the faster speed will also cut down on charging times for non-Teslas that take up multiple spots.
I’m hoping Tesla comes to their senses soon enough and uses pricing strategy to do that. Beyond the token “subscription”

Sure, but what car drops to only 75kW two minutes after plugging in at 20% SOC?

Oh, that's right, the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra EV with the cabin climate control turned on! :cautious:
