So I’m driving down the freeway with my family, and the light bar I just had installed on my Cybertruck flew off while we were on the road.

I had this installed about a month ago. It was supposed to be the new and improved installation method, but clearly something went wrong.

Does anyone know how I can rewire or secure it better so I can safely drive it to a service center?

I would disconnect it at the connector that’s in the panel between the windows after turning it off and put it in the cabin or bed myself

It’s the connector they used to make everyone plug in after they installed it .
You can also remove the whole sail panel which is broken in your case quite easily. It’s just clips that hold it on.
Since it’s wet maybe wrap some electrical tape around the connector on the car side to protect it.

Easiest option is to make sure rood feed is turned off and cut the wires where the splices are.
Alternative is to remove b pillar cover, unplug connector and remove harness from the top, but that will leave a hole (not good for b pillar modules)

How long after installation did you drive off with the truck? New recommendation is to let the application sit for 24hrs. The V3,which you probably have has a quick disconnect a few inches inside the appliqué. There is no reason why they won’t replace the one that detached. I have had mine little over a month and still holding well.

Did not know that about the quick disconnect. Helpful.

I finally got the email to schedule my install. Sounds like some of the service centers still don't have the right installation technique down. I'm not sure it will get any better if I wait though. I wish they would redesign it to mount inside like the original.
It sounds like some people are having better luck and had good installs.

it was actually over at the dealership over the weekend after they had put it in so I had plenty of time to cure.

I’ve had it on for about a month. We live in Salt Lake City, Utah and today it started getting a little cold about 56°. So there seems to be an issue with whatever they use to try and attach it to the windshield and cold weather.

I had my lightbar installed in July along with a scheduled tire rotation. Service Center kept it over the weekend, I assumed it was to let the adhesive cure. Being paranoid, I was always reaching up and wriggling the lightbar to test adhesion, seemed on solid.

About 3 weeks ago, when I scheduled the cant rail recall and a couple other minor-ish things, Tesla removed the lightbar (notes said technician found incorrect install on lightbar) and reinstalled. I picked the truck up after hours, so I couldn't go and ask service writer what exactly the issue might have been, because I didn't feel or see anything concerning with the lightbar before the 2nd go at it.

I hope they get this lightbar thing dialed in, soon.

They reinstalled the same one? it would seem with all the adhesive at the base of the light bar (when removed) you would have uneven gaps on reapplication.

It can be scraped off but believe me when I tell you, it’s not fun.

That's the info I don't have, I just noticed that line on my service order after the truck was ready to pick up.

That’s strange, I had one of the very first light bars installed, and never had any problems. And that’s going through a very cold Colorado winter. They used a ton of glue on mine, whatever they are doing now seems to be worse.
