I remember from the interview of David Moss, that he made a quite long detour to avoid a state border food inspection where he would had certainly needed to make a disengagement to talk with a trooper.95% of it will be highwaywhich is great
But still going to have to charge every 170 miles or so and that on/off the highway and getting to SCs is going to be a problem.
Think there is about 0% chance of going cross country with truly not touching the squirkel, but nice to see the attempt.
Correct. After all of the hours we've driven with FSD across the country, I'm reasonably skeptical of the "no intervention" claims. Unless the definition is different than mine. You have to not count things like parking interventions. Ours parked at a dead supercharger, or not close enough, on more than one occasion, for example. Vehicle never engaged a wrong, way too low, speed limit that needed intervention?
This was true of v13. V14 allows you to turn on FSD with the bike rack blocking the rear camera. @browncowboy & I tested this last week. I believe the video of the testing will drop on youtube tomorrow. In jumping around the video last night I heard mention of a hitch bike rack not affecting FSD. Is there anything out there that corroborates that statement?
All of my Tesla's with FSD would not allow FSD use when the rear camera was even partially blocked by bikes on a rack.
Interesting, FSD will not engage on my 2025 Model Y AWD with FSD 14.2.2.5 and my bike rack and bikes installed. Ill be sure to checkout you video. You're putting bikes on the rack too ... right? This was true of v13. V14 allows you to turn on FSD with the bike rack blocking the rear camera. @browncowboy & I tested this last week. I find FSD to be great on highways, I just change the speed settings (standard/hurry/mad max) based on what I want it to doI've found FSD to be terrible on the highway. Doesn't speed up for speed limit changes, passes cars and then slows down as soon as it gets beside them, then slows down once it gets in front of them, etc. I would be shocked if a true zero intervention drive was possible.
As someone who's driven with FSD across the country on many trips, I can't imagine this being possible. FSD drives me crazy. It's great in the city. Terrible on the highway, IMO.
