FYI: I’ve been getting this question a lot, so I just confirmed directly with Tesla (not a sales advisor) that as long as you place your new Tesla order by March 31, 2026, you can transfer FSD to your new Tesla, even if you order the $60k Cybertruck AWD & take delivery in 2027. But again, all orders must be placed by March 31 to be eligible.​

I'm trying to decide what to do.

Do I transfer FSD from my Foundation truck to the 60k truck.

Or do I transfer FSD from my Model Y to the new truck.

Either way I'll need to do a subscription on one of them.

I like having the Model Y with the paid FSD since that seems more likely to be the car that gets unsupervised first.

Sure wish I had a HW3 car with paid FSD right now.

I'm doing this and yes, the car needs to be ordered by March 31 date and then you can do an FSD transfer. The stipulations from Tesla are:

To complete your Full Self-Driving (Supervised) transfer, your current vehicle must remain in your Tesla account and under your ownership through delivery of your new vehicle.

Removal of this vehicle from your Tesla account, including but not limited to sale or ownership transfer, until FSD (Supervised) has been activated on your new Tesla, will result in forfeiture of the FSD (Supervised) transfer.

I ordered the DM (premium) on Feb 5th so no issues for me. Remember, Feb 14 2026 was the last day you could purchase an FSD license so only FSD transfers are possible now or, until Elon changes his mind ... again.

At times it does seem like they are just making this shit up as they go. Planning? we don't need no stinking planning ...

I also ordered the new "Dual Motor AWD" Cybertruck and Tesla confirmed that my full FSD will transfer to it when delivered. They said the old and new Tesla have to be registered to the same email account.

I have an HW3 car without paid FSD but didn't know they were going to offer the truck for so low. I could have bought FSD then transferred to the new truck. Dang it.

That's BIG.....I did the same thing for my parents when I upgraded them from a HW3 model Y to the latest Model Y. Transferred the FSD (huge since now on HW4), got the Federal Tax Credit and a very good and fair trade in price. Now that this is available on the 60k AWD CT......I think will seal the deal for a lot of upgrading!! Nice job TESLA

Does anyone who transferred know if the contract terms change upon transfer or does the original terms continue to apply? If you have a 2018 or earlier FSD contract for *true* [unsupervised] FSD I would be worried about releasing Tesla from that obligation.
