Cybertruck one day?
Country flag
Directly from Tesla Autopilot page:

Autopilot
Autopilot includes the following functionality and features:
Traffic-Aware Cruise Control: Matches the speed of your vehicle to that of the surrounding traffic
Autosteer: Assists in steering within a clearly marked lane, and uses traffic-aware cruise control

To clarify: autopilot is still not available on the cybertruck.

Great update. I am trying to figure out how they make the AC more effective and make it quieter via a SOFTWARE update.
My guess is by allowing to to direct airflow to more than directly at you, or face-level. For example I am in the habit of changing it off auto so I can put airflow on the feet and windshield which reduces the noise considerably. I understand the thought that on auto if it sets it to face-level (what the manual calls it) you will “feel” more airflow and likely feel like you are being cooled down quicker. I also tend to switch on the rear client even if no one is back there.

OK. You convinced me. I'll just quit using it since my truck's Autopilot can't be working ;).

When you get your Cybertruck, hopefully you'll include FSD in your order or your Autopilot won't work, too.

Over and out....

Just installed 20.1 messed my cameras up. Getting these 2 errors don’t update yall.

Tesla Cybertruck Software update 2024.20.1 -- AUTO HVAC improvements for hot weather. The A/C cools down the cabin faster, and maintains comfort at lower noise levels. IMG_2943

Awesome source. I do plan on tinting my front windshield with 3M Crystalline film to cut down on direct heat transmission. This will further reduce the AC load, hopefully. ?

If your definition of Autopilot is: it steers for you and keeps you in your lane, then, for you, Autopilot doesn’t work.

When I click on the Autopilot menu item on the controls screen and see that ALL of the Autopilot function selections except FSD work, and those functions work as expected while I’m driving, then, for me, Autopilot works.

Depending on definitions, YMMV…. and that’s OK.
I think if you can get on the freeway/highway and set your TACC or set the speed and then you can not have to steer, you have autopilot or autosteer as it is talked about in the manual. It is my understanding that no one outside of Tesla employees have autopilot on the Cybertruck as of right now.

That happened to me with the previous update. After about thirty miles driving around on expressways in the Dallas area all was back to normal.

I think the software update somehow caused camera recalibration to be started. Once that happens the calibration has to be completed before those functions are restored.

Maybe an experienced Tesla owner will chime in with better info.

anyone notice any improvements in vampire drain?
Initially Yes per my original post in this topic thread. I will continue to monitor and see if my truck stays asleep for longer periods of time now and has less drain.

Not sure if it’s the new update, but when I open the app, it’s almost always showing “Sleeping” which I rarely ever saw before. And my router is now showing the WiFi connection as “offline”, which again is very rare and indicates that the truck really is asleep.

Maybe this will improve the vampire drain…?

I definitely have some problems with this one.

Good: low end throttle response, both acceleration and regen are much smoother and easier to control now. At first I thought regen was significantly reduced until I realized the curve was just changed

Bad:
- my seat now only moves one direction when switching between easy entry and my profile. put it in drive, it goes forward. put it in park, it goes forward again. put it in drive, it goes forward a third time... etc

-filing a bug report no longer works, and instead causes a random song I've never heard of called "bug report" to start playing on spotify.

-AC is definitely less effective, not just quieter. I had just gotten used to the cabin temp at each temp setting and it's completely different now. Where 72F was icy before, I now have to go to 68F to reach that temp. And it's not warmer here than it was when I got the truck, so it's not that.

I recall an auto “magazine” testing the braking on the model 3 when it first came out. They criticized the stopping distance. The next day (or two) after the video an OTA reduced the stopping by distance. The dude was shocked. He had never heard of such of thing. Couldn’t believe it. (Neither could I). I don’t know many (any?) manufacturers that can do that today. ?. They invented “software controlled car” a decade ago.

As to the actual mechanism they did this … ??
Like you said, it’s been a while so the exact details may be fuzzy, but I THINK I remember there being something I read back then that Tesla contacted the magazine to find out why their results were different from what Tesla themselves had seen in internal testing. The difference was multiple hard braking tests back to back. The fix was factoring in the increased temperature of the brake fluid after multiple hard braking applications in a row and adjusting the software to compensate for however that affects ABS and braking performance.

That actually sounds like an improvement. 72F shouldn't be icy.
I'm guessing they adjusted air flow vs evaporator temperature/ capacity so the same amount of heat is removed, but the temperature of the outlet air and volume shifted. Either more&warmer air, or less&cooler air.

Anyone else’s lock chime volume back to a reasonable level after 2024.20.1?

Is this a CT thing?

I’m running the update. Had climate keeper on. Got a notification that climate had been turned off because it had been on for two hours.

In my 2020 MYLR’s, I’ll get a notice that climate has been on for an extended period of time, but it won’t shut off (as long as SoC is >20%).

Mines completely gone. Can’t toggle on/off anymore.
