So I know this kinda dumb but what charger(s) come with fa cybertruck?
Is it just the slow home charger or also the faster wall mount that needs to be installed.

Just the Powershare Mobile Connector

Which can do 32A from 240v which is not bad, and likely sufficient for most people who already just charge overnight.
So what is needed day 1 week 1 for charging at home?

The Foundation Series also comes with credit or service for a Wall Connector, which gets up to 48a when hardwired into a 60a circuit. Only 40a on a 50a (like replacing a dryer outlet).

If you plan to use PowerShare you will need a Universal Wall Connector installed. If you dont care about PowerShare and want to keep costs to a minimum, you can just have a 240v outlet installed and use the included Mobile Connector. If you want to do full L2 of the vehicle you can have a Wall Connector installed.

Really up to you and where it is being installed, but you definitely dont want to be using just 120v if you can help it.

Any outlet will do, just plug it in, leave it all night.
  • From a standard 15a wall outlet, you'll get less than 3 miles per hour plugged in. 30-40 miles a night, which is sometimes plenty. Especially if you leave it plugged in all day.
  • From a 20a tool outlet you'll get another mile or two per hour. 50-60 per night.
  • Tip that up to a 20a 240v outlet and you'll get up to 10 miles an hour. 100 miles a night.
  • But past that, it get sweet, fast, as overhead is smaller and smaller. A 50a dryer outlet and the Mobile Connector should get you 28 miles per hour. That's basically full overnight.
  • That same wiring, but a hard wired Wall Connector will get you over 40 miles per hour, or way more than full overnight.

The truck can be told to charge at a specific rate, or try to be 100% at a certain time to be ready - and it'll calculate how long and when it needs to start the charger for you.

You don't need to, but it's more efficient.

If you're going to run wiring, try to ready it for 50, 60a if you can, so you can put in a Wall Connector and have the most flexibility to charge.

I only have 30a wired to my parking, due to its location, so you might want to think about it.

Recommend 60 amp circuit with 4g wire to a 240. Let's you upgrade to a universal charger whenever at a later date.

I was all ready to change but I don't know that I need it. Only reason I'm considering is the 2500$ voucher. And if my wife buys a EV then she can use the UWC.

For my use a 110 15a outlet would work and its commonly found in garages.

If you have an electric dryer near your garage you can use a smart splitter that charges the car when the dryer is not in use. This bumps your charge speed a lot.

That is legit. I will have to keep my eye on that.

Just got my truck a week ago, it comes with a charger which has BOTH a standard 110VAC plug, which gives you 10 amps - AND it comes with a 240V 3-Phase plug - which give you 30 amps.

You will want to keep that charger in your truck.

110VAC is slooowwww....2-3 miles per HOUR of charging....
240VAC @30amps is 17miles per hour - Better!

You can buy at additional cost the 'wall mount' hard wired 240V 40 amp charger which will get you better ~35-40 miles per hour - so 4 hours is 200 miles.

I see now Tesla is sold out of nearly all the truck accessories - however, the Foundation comes with the mudflaps, roof sunshade, carpet set and console tray.

I like the cargo molle divider and the molle side cargo panels.
