New Cyberbeast owner, just picked up yesterday! The delivery was not like anything I've experienced before, only thing I felt was slightly off was I was discouraged from putting any issues on paper. Instead I was repeatedly advised the best way to note vehicle defects/issues is to use the app.

Anyway, hoping to get some feedback on a few things-

1. - The inside of my windshield has really bad haze, almost like someone smoked a pack of cigarettes for 6 months in the vehicle. I brought the haze up at delivery but was told that they have been swamped, and did the best they could with cleaning. I figure they're better prepared for it with some sort of cleaning tool (he mentioned a swiffer?), whereas I can't for the life of me think of how I'm supposed to apply cleaning pressure that forward.

The haze is so bad it's honestly slightly hazardous. I don't know if it was dashboard offgassing or what, any ideas on what could have caused it? Just was surprised, I've bought other new vehicles from other car companies and never had a windshield with pretty significant haze with a new delivery.

2. - We noticed a slight ripple effect in the stainless that runs alongside the tonneu, I was told this is normal as they all have some varying degree of stainless imperfections. It is pretty minor, but still could be seen. The driver's side strip of stainless also sticks out a miniscule amount, but I was told to expect it'd be viewed as in-spec. Is this worth pushing?

3. My passenger side front dash white interior trim has some sort of dark splotch (almost like a shoe tread) on it measuring about 1.5-2inches around or so. The Tesla employee helping me tried to clean it , but only had a little bit of luck in getting it to lighten up a bit. It's still present and noticeable given how white the trim is. He said if he were to note it physically he would write that it's part of the production pattern, but to me it was pretty clear that's not the case.

He again suggested I use the app and schedule with service, and deterred me from having it put on any paperwork. Normal to be pushed to the app again for something more blatant like this?

4. My hood's stainless looks by far the worst, and has almost like chemical swirls that don't clean up with Sprayway cleaner. I'm guessing it'll be best to hit it with Barkeepers Friend to see if I can refresh it / clean it up? I should note that the entire vehicle has TONS of those little rail dust specks too scattered about, and the hood has a pencil eraser sized looking rust spot on it. Is BKF still the go-to for handling them?

That aside, I'm still in the process of trying to do a more thorough inspection, it was a little challenging at delivery due to us baking in the sun (literally have sunburn haha), and with the Cyberbeast still being a bit dirty. I did find one trim piece scratch and might raise that too. I was told I had two days to report as part of delivery inspection escalations.

Outside, super impressed! It's unlike anything I could have imagined in terms of everything it offers tech/performance wise. It feels like it's so overboard in performance that I'm genuinely hoping it'll still be a safe vehicle for rainy/snowy weather! :D

Any feedback / thoughts would be super appreciated!

The haze happened on my fiancé’s AWD like the 2nd week of having it, so we assumed off gassing, my Cyberbeast it hasn’t happened to yet but the dash on my CB is also more of a suede where the AWD appears to be something else.

I had similar experience. I have a service request for some items. I'm really gonna get in there and clean on it this weekend.

1. I had a haze on mine that developed over the first couple weeks. I just used glass cleaner on a shop towel pushed around with a squeegee. Others have used Swiffers to clean it. The deepest parts I had to do by hand but it really wasn't hard.

2. Sounds normal to me. Others have taken it in for service and been told it was in spec. If it's really warped then ya get it fixed but a slight waviness is normal.

3. Maybe try a Mr clean magic eraser? Mine was spotless.

4. BKF followed by a clean wipe then non ammonia Windex. I only had a couple rail dust spots and they came off pretty easy.

Yes, the app wasn’t just for purchasing, it is what you use to make a service request. It will allow you to add photos of the issue. It’s simple, is the best documentation, and is what they will use to make an initial appointment and estimate.

I'd suggest going by a manual car wash, one with the foaming brush and give it a good cleaning.
For the inside window, I got this Amazon.com: TAKAVU Windshield Window Cleaner Tool, Extendable Long-Reach Handle, Unique Pivoting Triangular Head, 3 Washable Reusable Microfiber Bonnets, Car & Home Inside Interior Exterior Use - Lint Free (Red) : Automotive
and it easily got into the far reaches.
I'd suggest a lightly soapy solution for the first wiping, replace the pad and use just water to get the soap off, and then the 3rd pad with some microfibers on top to dry and polish it. Just make sure that you are doing this in the shade.

These really sound like cleaning issues, and there is no need to create a Service Request for them. But use soap and warm water first, before any other chemicals. My truck seemed to have an oil coating on it, probably from the sheet metal presses that needs to come off first.

And it you have any delivery defects or basically anything, the app is how you talk to Tesla. Tesla is a 21st century company and telephones are not their focus.

I had that haze as well on my first day with it. My wife had this scotch brite cleaning tool. No idea where to find it, but it’s perfect for applying pressure and getting the whole interior windshield. I just wrap a micro fiber towel over it.

The rest of your issues I am sure that Service will take care of it if they are bad enough. Sounds all pretty standard though. Good luck!

It's sad to see so many ""final"" inspection issues. Seems it's push out the door. Make overwhelmed SC deal with it. By reading so many post on here and TMC, delivery is a circus. Great to horrible. They have not hired at a rate compared to production. This will only get worse as they push to deliver the millions of orders.

Tesla badly needs more locations for sales and service.

It's mostly because Tesla just does business differently.

For the vast majority of other vehicles, you buy them off of the showroom floor or lot. So that you will pick the vehicle, they clean them up to showroom level, just to get you to buy the vehicle.
That's a cost that is built into the dealer's cost. You pay that, you just don't see it.

Tesla, as everyone should know, doesn't use dealers. Tesla is much more like Amazon. They don't pass the cost of detailing the vehicle to you, they let you decide how you are going to spend that money.

Definitely a plastic offgassing issue. Mine was the same way. Don't expect it to go away with just one cleaning. Takes a while for that plastic to finally settle down.
FYI: it's normal for new plastics to offgas. They all do it.

I have to clean my windshield almost every time I drive it. Hopefully the offgassing will stop soon. Only had it a month though.

That train ride does havoc on vehicle finishes. Even SS will pick up iron rust fallout during the transportation phase.

I have read that Iron-X works like a charm for iron fallout removal.

Yeah, mine is about the same. Had it for about a month plus. Inside is looking pretty good but, I pretty much have to clean the outside of that flat long windshield before I drive it. Lotta dirt up here in Northern Nevada.
