New Cyberbeast owner, just picked up yesterday! The delivery was not like anything I've experienced before, only thing I felt was slightly off was I was discouraged from putting any issues on paper. Instead I was repeatedly advised the best way to note vehicle defects/issues is to use the app.
Anyway, hoping to get some feedback on a few things-
1. - The inside of my windshield has really bad haze, almost like someone smoked a pack of cigarettes for 6 months in the vehicle. I brought the haze up at delivery but was told that they have been swamped, and did the best they could with cleaning. I figure they're better prepared for it with some sort of cleaning tool (he mentioned a swiffer?), whereas I can't for the life of me think of how I'm supposed to apply cleaning pressure that forward.
The haze is so bad it's honestly slightly hazardous. I don't know if it was dashboard offgassing or what, any ideas on what could have caused it? Just was surprised, I've bought other new vehicles from other car companies and never had a windshield with pretty significant haze with a new delivery.
2. - We noticed a slight ripple effect in the stainless that runs alongside the tonneu, I was told this is normal as they all have some varying degree of stainless imperfections. It is pretty minor, but still could be seen. The driver's side strip of stainless also sticks out a miniscule amount, but I was told to expect it'd be viewed as in-spec. Is this worth pushing?
3. My passenger side front dash white interior trim has some sort of dark splotch (almost like a shoe tread) on it measuring about 1.5-2inches around or so. The Tesla employee helping me tried to clean it , but only had a little bit of luck in getting it to lighten up a bit. It's still present and noticeable given how white the trim is. He said if he were to note it physically he would write that it's part of the production pattern, but to me it was pretty clear that's not the case.
He again suggested I use the app and schedule with service, and deterred me from having it put on any paperwork. Normal to be pushed to the app again for something more blatant like this?
4. My hood's stainless looks by far the worst, and has almost like chemical swirls that don't clean up with Sprayway cleaner. I'm guessing it'll be best to hit it with Barkeepers Friend to see if I can refresh it / clean it up? I should note that the entire vehicle has TONS of those little rail dust specks too scattered about, and the hood has a pencil eraser sized looking rust spot on it. Is BKF still the go-to for handling them?
That aside, I'm still in the process of trying to do a more thorough inspection, it was a little challenging at delivery due to us baking in the sun (literally have sunburn haha), and with the Cyberbeast still being a bit dirty. I did find one trim piece scratch and might raise that too. I was told I had two days to report as part of delivery inspection escalations.
Outside, super impressed! It's unlike anything I could have imagined in terms of everything it offers tech/performance wise. It feels like it's so overboard in performance that I'm genuinely hoping it'll still be a safe vehicle for rainy/snowy weather!
Any feedback / thoughts would be super appreciated!
