I see about 5% benefit on longer, faster road trips in my Model 3. At speeds above 90 mph I can feel the difference in terms of how fast the car slows down when I let off the throttle. The wheel covers add a nice little amount of extra slipperiness. I don't expect to be able to feel in it in the Cybertruck (since it's less aero to begin with).
I never really noticed any meaningful difference in my Model 3. I used to use them on roadtrips, but after I noticed they left scratches on my wheels, I quit using them.
I hope Cybertruck covers don't damage the wheels

A lot of people don't notice any difference in the feel of the Aero covers at speeds above 90 mph. Most of them never drive over 90 mph either. The colder the air is, the more pronounced the effect, and the more likely you are to be able to tell the difference (if you switch back and forth between Aero covers and bare wheels) on a Model 3. On a Cybertruck I think the relative benefit of the Aero covers will only be about half as large.

As to wheel scratches from the Aero covers on Model 3, 18" wheels, it's simply a matter of wiping the clip areas with a microfiber towel before pushing the covers on. If you do this, you won't see any significant scratching of the painted wheels. I drive a lot of sanded/graveled roads, slushy winter conditions with ice melting chlorides, and have three Model 3s, all of which wear Aero covers more often than not. I do all my own seasonal tire changeovers and the three or four times I used a tire shop because I needed a mount and balance for new tires, I made sure to remove the Aero covers before bringing the car in. You want to pop them off suddenly, seemingly without care, and always wipe the contact spokes off (and the spring clips) with a microfiber before re-installing them.

I think it just refers to the image of the re-designed covers installed (finally).
Yeah but I keep on suckering in to recheck it, expecting to see actual forum members with them installed on their truck, not just in the queue for it. It’s nice to get the email but all reservation holders are technically in the queue for it; the email just makes it seem a little more real for those with their trucks.

I’d rather have the option to select BFGoodrich All Terrains (KM3s) like Tesla used in their latest video touting the new Offroad Modes.

Soooo does this mean that we'll all be getting these in the mail? Will we get an email verifying shipping?

How much do yall speculate they'll help with efficiency?
I received an email on Friday notifying me they are being shipped.
"Your vehicle is in the queue to receive the Cybertruck Cyber Wheel covers. No action is needed from you. Once the product is available at your local service center you will receive a notification in your Tesla mobile app.

The Tesla Team "
Seems that they will be sent to the service center and we'll pick them up there.

I would love to see how much of a difference they make to efficiency.

How do they install?
1) Do they clip to the circumference
of the rim and can therefore be aligned with the tire design?
2) Do they clip into the center heptagon or spokes and therefore the tires need to be rotated to match up with the design?

About as much as a sticker on the vehicle, lol. Any aero efficiency probably negated by the addition of unsprung weight (more negative effect than weight added anywhere else on vehicle). Disclaimer, I'm speculating based on education, but am no Tesla engineer.

Removing and Installing Wheel Covers (tesla.com)

tl;dr
- Mounting ring clips to the spokes
- Cover clips to the mounting ring, the cover can be oriented to align with the tire design at this step
