I am sure several aftermarket wheel companies are already designing wheels for the Cybertruck and hopefully by the time I get mine there will be a set of wheels that look good without hubcaps.

Tesla Cybertruck New wheels / aero wheel covers spotted on Cybertruck -- 7/31/23 1690897939959

I saw my fair share of these whilst in the USA. Many of which were not fake plastic.
Pedestrian whippers. Can only image bits hanging off them zombie style every time I see them.

As long as the brakes get adequate cooling, I'm loving the flat plate aero design...assuming they get the wobble out of them. Those probably shake like crazy at freeway speeds.

Those wheels look misaligned and very wobbly on the video. Personally I would immediately remove the other wheel covers from the first prototype. I never have liked them, but when I saw them in real life at The Petersen they were AWFUL. They stick out way beyond the tires ridiculously!

I like the idea of aero rims, even flat faces are alright. Just not sticking out beyond the rims. A couple of years ago I took this photo of a cool looking Subaru setup that had flat face rims that I like.

These look very janky and temporary, although something along these lines would be fun.

Tesla has been quite careful to hide the wheels on release candidates. I wonder what could be so special about the wheels that would warrant the effort of hiding them, but showing most of the rest of the car exterior. Short of spikes I can only think of perhaps some clue that they’ve gone with using the air compressors to allow adjusting tyre pressure.

What about airless tires? Maybe they want us to think about the rim so much that we aren't aware that they're actually aren't rims or that their aren't tires at all. Michelin and Goodyear both make a super compelling airless tire one of them has a rim one of them doesn't even have a wheel

All of the airless tires examples I've seen are dirt/mud/rock collection magnets. Anything but pristine paved environments would cause them to collect junk on their interior workings which would cause tremendous out-of-balance issues when driving until they were thoroughly cleaned out again.

Some have sidewalls, some are open. Almost all of them have been tested in the real world. I still hope we get them.
