I don't understand the physics of accelerating, wind resistance at speed, and then the door swings "wide open". Some of this doesn't line up.
Yep. That's why I'm asking for him to post the dashcam video until I take this as reasonably believable.

How did the door become unlatched?

They actually said to quit complaining? Wow. Those pics are frightening to see actually.
I would have their ass for that, especially knowing my young child was sitting there. That could have been deadly via their gross incompetence.

I would pull dashboard video, it should clearly show the door swing open while going down the road. You have pics of the damage etc. You very well may have a legit reason to lawyer up and I am not litigious at all!

JRA. Just Riding Along.

Back in the day when I worked in a bike shop we called it a JRA. Yeah I was just riding along and my fork bent in half and my rim taco'd. JRA right we would say.

Regardless of the circumstances here, I'm a little amazed at how light the door latch hardware is, and especially that it uses some kind of nuts behind unreinforced sheet metal instead of a welded boss that reinforces the back side of that panel and would allow replacement of that part without access to the inside.

Someone forgot the thread lock....

What's up with these 1-day old accounts posting stuff like this?
They don't seek out the forum until they have something happen. It makes the sample here weighted towards reports of trouble.
