Is it possible to just run the 240v from the Cybertruck into the main panel of a house, or do you need Powershare? I have an existing generator hookup...can I just replace the generator with a CT, or do I need all this powershare hardware?

I have had quotes of $9700 to install the PowerShare into my house. On top of install I have to use my voucher for the equipment. Totally crazy way to waste money. I could get a whole house 15 Kw natural gas generator installed for around $9 that is totally automated and have my voucher left for me to spend. I just need to decide how to spend my voucher.

Any of you fine gentlemen want to share what it is we need to ask our electricians to be able to circumvent Powershare?

I'm not that comfortable with electrical so the $2,100 I spent on Powershare installation (free equipment with voucher) was an easy decision. But I could understand why someone would go another route if you got high quotes.

I did just have my first Powershare test today and it worked flawlessly. About 1 second to switch to CT and no disruption when switching back to grid. Now I'm just waiting for Powershare to work with solar. According to the installer, Tesla is still stating Q4 for that.

You will need a Tesla universal wall connector and one Tesla Gateway to have PowerShare and use the CT as generator for your house. Can generate 48amps. Heating and air, electric , lights etc. up to 48 amps. One day schedule. Cost $5000-$2500 voucher total $2500. New Jersey

What do you think the cost is for an electrician to install something like that?
Shrugg.
Hard part is the line from outside generator port to the main panel, but that is normally not long/ far.
The rest is jumpering existing circuits over to the panel. Mostly labor time. Should be less than a day, maybe half a day.

Plus permits, plus whatever in the main panel doesn't get grandfathered in.

I feel like 40a isn't a ton of stuff to power. When we lost power for the hurricane, I just used a bunch of extension chords.

Our house has 400A service, but we went a few days in winter off a 5.5kW (30A feed) portable generator.

When you set that up, did you chose what you want to power?
