I did. For what it’s worth, that’s what they told me too. They sent my original front drive unit back after they replaced it and the engineers said it was working as intended. It may be as simple as whatever is insulating the motor noise is different or missing on yours. Obviously, that’s just pure speculation.
The Model Y had some sort of ground or seal issue that made a noise when it first launched. I'll ask about that.

I personally like the sound, don’t think it’s a flaw but if you’re used to other teslas it’s odd

I wanted to add my two cents since in my experience here daily I don't think I've read this counter point.

I believe it is not the motor whirring, that sound is clear during acceleration. (and comparable with other Tesla's, although louder which I love!)

I believe the sound everyone keeps referring to sounds a transmission (gear box) type sound happening. You can hear it clearly engaging and disengaging based on your accelerator inputs vs the trucks acceleration or deceleration.

It is higher pitched than the motor and you can hear the pitch change with your speed, since it's literally connecting your motor to your wheel. It has a sound of its own which is in addition to the motors. And yes, I believe Tesla when they say its normal.

As mentioned the sound is not present on other Tesla models, I'm guessing that's because none of them have locking differential beefy truck transmissions. It is a brand new gearbox never been used before, anywhere.

Could Tesla have made it quieter? Maybe?! But how is this even a real complaint once you weight the pros and cons? I'd rather enjoy the noise and keep the truck that can drive itself, and adjust to any height or terrain easily and on the fly with the touch of buttons. It's incredible.

To complain about a little noise or attempt to have fixed what the manufacturer says is "how it's supposed to be" defies all reason and logic to me. But hey, that's just me. Love you all though! Have a great day

It's obviously not consistent across all trucks and it's loud. I have to turn the stereo up to 7 before I can't hear it at all. At volume 3, it's louder than the music.

That's the inquiry here. Tesla says it's normal, but others don't have it to the same level I do.

Tesla says the tonneau is supposed to leak, as in it's not intended to be waterproof, but almost everyone either has Tesla fix it or fixes it themselves. It's a weird viewpoint to not question Tesla Service, especially when they are often not aligned SC vs SC, hence the purpose of this forum.

I don't...I had a Tesla owner swear to me this morning that they rode in a CT last week and it didn't make that sound, so I paused (my 5 year old's Monster Mash request) to see if he was correct.

All Teslas have the electric motor sound when accelerating. Only the Cybertruck has the constant gear whine sound to go with this. I feel like only some have stated they have this. Tesla service (2 different locations) have told me this is normal and exclusive to how the truck was made and it is indeed gear whine.

As it gets colder, it's getting louder. It's really my biggest gripe with the truck, it's really loud in the interior. I wanted to see if everyone had this and if anyone was any to get this fixed. (Video/Audio Coming).

The sound starts at 4mph and stops around 55-60....even if you hold 4 mph or any speed, it remains (unlike the motor sound) as shown here.

I don't believe my truck sounds the same. My truck seems to be much quieter but comparing would be difficult without a sound meter. BTW, I have a Cyberbeast.

You can try using a different gear oil.

They all make that sound, but not as pronounced and sustained. Ask your local service manager if you can email him that video and if he will please forward it to someone in engineering to give a listen.

I have suspected for a while the Tesla plays a sound through the speakers to complement (and mask a bit) of the coil wine and gear whirring sounds that naturally radiate.

If you have no electrical or mechanical problems, then I would bet that the active noise dampening system isn't quite working right. I bet most people forgot it existed lol

After listening to this driving today I shut the radio off and listened , mine is no where near as load as this. But is this a Beast ? Maybe it has to do with the extra motor ? Mine is AWD FS

I hear 2 sounds in that video. One is the faint motor which has a cool sounding whizzing sound that increases in pitch the faster you go. The other is a more monotone whirring sound that sounds very loud to me.

My beast has the motor sound that you hear on acceleration and deceleration. I have no gear whine.
