So is it not bizarre that they have this design (or manufacturing) failure at this point in production?!? Just seems like a lack of quality control. Of note, if you have service center > 1 hr away then this type of thing is annoying and should never happen.

Thanks for sharing this, OP. I have that gap at the top as well.

I was scanning the parts catalog and noticed this for CTs built before 10/14/2024:

I'm bringing mine in tomorrow for rotation and the flex cable deal, I'll add the tonneau gap concern now (I took delivery 05/30/2024 so mine was built well before the change date).

I just got my truck back after a week of service for the two recall items as well as the tonneau cover gap issue others are reporting here. During my delivery earlier in the year, I specifically checked for this fitment and found it to be good, but one of the rubber seals on the slats shifted and was causing some drag on one side of the cover when closing. That side would close less than the other, causing a gap when closed.

Service fixed the issue:

"Verified concern could see large visible gap at top of Tonneau cover allowing water to enter truck bed. Performed rework of Tonneau cover slat system and verified after adding additional slat and reinstalling cover that gap is no longer visible and should no longer allow water to enter from the top."

Just got back from service for tire rotation, check alignment, flex harness guide, and check the tonneau gap. Currently at 06,900 miles. FS AWD 113xx. ETA: And wheel covers, finally!!

Tech called me and said tires are wearing perfectly even. No need to rotate. They checked the alignment and found it perfect. So no charge for rotation or alignment since no work was performed.

Flex cable guide installed.

They tried to adjust the tonneau gap but it didn’t work. They’re ordering a new tonneau and will install in two weeks. They already made the appointment.

The West Covina SC is always the best service!!

Good question. The tech said, ‘New tonneau’ but may have been referring to the kit that adds the slats.

Wow glad I stumbled on this thread !

Mine is early 24’ build.

It’s going in this week for the rear glass and drive inverters.

I’ll add the flex cable and additional slats to my ticket! Lfg

So I had the fix done last week. Left side is perfect, right side still leaks.

They wrote on the service sheet they compared it ti similar vehicles and it was normal, even though it was leaking on both sides previously and now just on the one. Made an appointment at a different service center for next week.
