I will GM credit as the BEV Silverado will be built on a new dedicated 100% electric platform. Ford took the cheaper approach and modified the existing F-150 platform until an all new F-150 Lightning debuts in 2025.
I come from the software world where people trot out really slick demos all the time and six months later the production version is released and itā€™s the bomb all right :poop:.

I wonā€™t give anyone credit for anything until they have them on the road and hear what people actually think about them. GM has been talking about dedicated EV skates for 14 years. That design was trotted out with the original Voltā€¦ it never shipped.

So far their EV platform has been 80% LG and 20% GM, there is a reason LG reimbursed GM 95% of the cost of their recall, itā€™s LGā€˜s platform.

If GM wants to talk big, they need to get cars on the road that use their design. And something in a little more volume than the Hummer.

How do you know where your preorder falls in the que #? Iā€™d love to know where my dual motor FSD falls! Thanks
Use this link, using 'verify' at this URL: https://sites.google.com/view/tesla-reservation-tracker

From there it will ask you to enter the numbers into the database... Without you having to download the database in the web browser.

However, any date it gives you is a raw production guess from a low annual production volume - a pessimistic guess that doesn't know about the delay in production or when the truck will be legal/arrive in your country.

Thursday: Drop configs from website.
Tuesday: Spy photos of beta truck
Wednesday: Earnings call. ???

Maybe some kind of update coming tomorrow?

Coincidence?

Donā€™t mind me. Just looking for some table scraps down here.

Iā€™m more concerned that chasing GM & Rivian will result in increasing prices. I donā€™t think Tesla will boost the price for pre-orders, but the more things which get added, the more anxious I get about it.

We still donā€™t have enough 4680 cell production to make Cybertrucks so Iā€™m not overly worried about feature creep causing delays.
Tesla and Elon Muskā€™s other companies generally do not chase other companies. They typically are the ones being chased. Itā€™s a fundamental part of the company cultures.

To me that means the price could change based on options selected at the time of purchase such as wheels, tires, hitch, etc. not what comes standard with the motor option you selected.
yes, because Tesla gives you so many options when you order. LOL! ?

I think it's time to move on and get the Rivian truck, a real truck that is being produced!! Cybertruck has been a publicity stunt!! I have 2 on order, will cancel both.
good idea! ?

Much of what he mentioned are things Tesla makes as options.

Tesla has a bunch of potential options that will be extremely expensive, and many of them will be easy to add after the fact.

* Solar
* Truck Wrap.
* Off Road Wheels
* CyberQuad
* Cyber Tent
* Low drag smart trailer
* FSD
* Winch
* Bolt on bumper upgrade

Tesla doesnā€™t want options slowing down the assembly line and screwing with logistics, but options which can be added at the service center are wide open. I can see a lot of people dropping $3,000+ on a wrap.

You do you bud. Let us know how it is, honestly let me know. I was debating Rivian, but it was a little steppe of a price. But you'll probably be waiting just as long if you are putting your order in now.

Remember that Elon is not going to be participating in the earning calls going forward.

I think the chances of getting some updates on the CT are really low / zero.

Hell, it's okay if Elon "leaks" some details, but I wouldn't be the guy that does the leaking. Unless it was planned. Planned to look like a leak.

I have a $1k deposit on a R1T but only as a back up plan. Itā€™s just in case the production version of the CT strays too far from the concept.

Judging by the recent video showing RWS and side mirrors it appears that Elon was correct that the production version will be very close to what was displayed in November of 2019. I will not be requesting my $1k R1T refund until the production version of the CT is actually revealed to the public.

What if the glass is half full (and not shattered) and the FSD price being removed is a gift -everyone who has pre-ordered with the FSD option gets it for free? Maybe the rest of the cost of the truck goes up due to inflation, but FSD doesn't necessarily have to be price-adjusted due to inflation.. and there's the incentive to keep your pre-order? Might piss a few people off but.

Side note: After watching the new Rivian reviews posted on youtube, it makes me wonder not only about how many similar features will be implemented into the CT (maybe not the flashlight) but how many other features will be added (praying for the back to roll/fold down for easy camping access to and fro the cabin and the bed). Also regarding feature additions: I'm very glad Tesla is last to finalize - just means there's more time to add.

This means that the launch party is officially over.

The Latest RNā€™s will be ordering after the launch ended. The number of Cybertruck orders ahead of these Jonny come latelyā€™s (1M+) are so many years out that both cost and configuration are indeterminable even by specification. So its ā€œTake a numberā€ā€¦
The big question is production rate.
The possibility of stamping out 500k CT's a year seems pretty real.
The Shanghai Tesla factory kinda points in this direction. (already pushing 500k, model 3 and model y)
Very likely Austin and Berlin production with magnify this notion.

Rate of production is Cybertruck strongest Tesla advantage.

Its exoskeleton(i.e. one piece), structural battery pack, integrated castings(F&R) and Ā½ the vehicle is MTY space in pickup bed. Most complicated bit is interior Fit & Trim.

Tesla have unitized powertrains. Electrical power is unitized circuitry .vs. wireloom. And Tesla is controlled by a single computer system .vs. industry practice of using 100ā€™s microcontollers.

Cybertruck is Teslas highest embodiment of its first principle. Cybertruck is hyper efficient assembly not manufacture. Its assembly footprint is ā…“ of a pickup manufacturing line.

One more thing, no paint!

Tesla can assemble in parallel CT1, CT2, CT3 with complete freedom to crossover labor, assemblies and components. Production has the probability to surpass all Tesla production benchmarks. Backlogged Cybertruck orders that appear to be 3 yr waitlist will take delivery in under two.

Everything in question wrt: Autopilot, ADAS and FSD can be transacted OTA without shutting the company and its manufacturing lines down.

The biggest constraints on Tesla GigaAUSTIN are skilled labor, assembly workforce and lack of available housing. Elon forgot to include workers in the Austin GIGA dream factory.

My biggest hope actually is that they will offer the 250mile range truck with dual motors. That would be the one I would get. It leaves them making less batteries to, which we all know is the supply constraint. Probably could even make this truck with the LFP batteries, which I would love even more!
The durability of the LFP is certainly appealing. Maybe a ~400 mile pack would be offered. They have the space apparently.
