I know, researchers have been testing solid-state batteries for years too, doesn't mean they will have it in production anytime soon

Tesla has production cars with the 4680 cells in them. They are just waiting for certification to start shipping them.

Tesla likely has a few Cybertrucks they’ve built prototyping the assembly line and we’d never know. They probably finish testing or validate the production steps then quietly ship them off to dark corners of their facilities to gather dust until after launch when they will be given to employees or sent to museums.

Could be... all speculations now... but one thing I know is that the bed won't be a 6.5' long

I think the Bed length is down to 4‘ 6” now, next week it’ll be down to 4’ even. We need more photos and more people with 2D measuring tools used on photos taken with wide angle lenses to establish the rate which the bed is shrinking.

Another puzzle, Tesla have enough unutilized factory space in Sparks, NV mega.

As I finance man, I'll be having an aneurism with the hit on my depreciation costs fpr non-productive assets on my books and the drain on cash flow or cash burn building another when I have one already with roof and structure ready for use.

Must be the reason why their CFO left. And their top manufacturing officer too with that "Musk changing things on a fly" and being blamed for delays and going home to shower,

How come you didn’t get any spy photos? Don’t they grow potatoes there?

There was some discussion about this in the Alaska tesla owners groups back when it happened, and even pictures of the shipments in the dock in Anchorage. Looked pretty legit to me. To my knowledge this sighting wasn't disproved, was it?

You can't use a factory the workers don't want to go to. And engineers can jump to other employers. So they dictate the jobs remain in the Bay Area.

You won't find many of my spouse's coworkers willing to move to Nevada, let alone Texas. Or a worse red state.

No proof nor disproof. They were doing Y testing at the same time.

Well again, the bed can't shrink by itself because of wide-angle lens if other independent dimensions in the truck body measure correctly (like wheels for example)... why would the bed measure incorrectly? BTW, just to test my model I measured the original truck from the original presentation and it indeed measures 6.5' bed but the proportions (also the size mainly length) have changed on the most recent CT test mules.

I understand what you are trying to say, but based on everything it's just not physically possible that the bed is 6.5' long, it can be 5' or 4.5' depending on where it ends, but no way it's 6.5' unless there are no rear seats... So like i said 6.5' with the "midgate" option...

Your measurements are off dramatically. It is far more likely that it is 6.5 than 4.5. I would personally estimate it at 6'-6'2".

I need to go find the photos. They were clearly, visibly cybertrucks. I believe this was during the time the CT was "touring" the country and put on display in different locations, which made it pretty clear there were multiple cybertrucks in existence at the time.

My son said he got tons of applicants who wants to move with him when it was mentioned he might be assigned to Sparks GIga with the congestion in Fremont. In fact, he was already looking for a home, inclined towards the best-of-world Lake Tahoe. But his boss resigned and he followed -- getting a better job with good life balance but had to stay in the Bay Area.

And yes, red state is a no-no. He had to think of his kids' future and scared of the damage on the growth and development of their iQ.
