I think the consolidated outlets device form factor is nice.
With the 240v and 120v outlets being in the same device, it's (possible) that some elegant simplicity has been designed in, where you only need three wires (2 opposite phased 120vac wires from inverters, and one wire for neutral and ground). Or there could be a separate extra fourth wire for neutral from somewhere, but it still ends up being the same as ground. Current limits of 20amps for 120vac outlets could be done within the custom device. This is of course speculation but also consistent with Tesla design ethos for simplicity and minimalism.
It will be interesting if we could get the actual specifications for the inverters powering these outlets.
