I have a model S Plaid and think the AWD has a great wow! Especially up against my turbo charged V6 Raptor. Getting 7,000 lbs moving to 60 in 4.1 is awesome! No need for the Tri Motor IMO.
Against a Plaid? That’s saying something! I guess moving that much mass so quickly is a different kind of feeling.

Oh yeah! the plaid is driving fast, which is fun. The CT is more like being a captain of a starship with your view screen 6'+ from you :ROFLMAO:

I love the analogy! I’ve heard a few others say similar things.

Although I think awd is plenty hella cool, I reserved the beast a few days ago hoping

A) the extra motor pre-conditions the battery faster on long trips
B) Track mode comes out to compliment torque vectoring
C) I hear its louder which is more akin to a truck
D) FS comes with lightbar

Having said that, I can't hate on either or!

I’ve got an AWD ordered and am waiting for a VIN (hopefully any day now). My question is for those who own the AWD version. For those coming from a regular vehicle in particular, but for all in general.

Is the acceleration of the AWD CyberTruck for you a “WOW!” factor? I’ve only driven a 2023 Model S standard model for a test drive. No other Tesla experience. To me, it had a ”WOW!” acceleration. And I know the AWD is a slight bit slower (although a much larger vehicle). So will the AWD version give me a similar “Wow!” feeling?
I have some fast cars but this 7000# truck is fast as hell considering! I’m glad I got the AWD and not the beast because it’s fast enough for anything I would ever use a truck for.

THIS! Very often arrive at Supercharger and battery hasn’t preheated sufficiently, despite warm summer conditions and having it set in Nav for the entire segment of the drive. Have also tried yoyo’ing accel/decel like my MS & MX to precondition the battery and no luck.

Is this a thing? I figured the batteries were conditioned by their own system, not the motors.
Yes the motors heat the coolant fluid which cycles through the battery to precondition . You can watch it happen in Off-road modes, there is a battery/motors temp screen. However, the preconditioning happens quickly when parked, but I’ve watched the temps while driving and seems the motors don’t preheat in the same way as when parked. I wonder if it’s because the motors cant be “inefficiently” creating heat while also driving the truck, as they’ve been programmed to do when stationary? Maybe it’s incredibly difficult to do in motion without wrecking the motor?

It’s a truck…. The “wow” should be at the bottom of the list

I have only test driven a Model S plaid. I have never owned and EV, mostly ICE sports and muscle cars, a lot of them. Not bragging, I was just brought up in that business. In my adult profession I have piloted many different jet aircraft, including ones with afterburners. Excepting a carrier launch, there is NOTHING like the kick in the ass a burner light gives you... though the Plaid was close! :)

I will say, if you show me a fighter pilot without an ego, I will show you a.... oh, wait, YOU CAN'T. LOL

When my opportunity arises, I will probably opt for the Beast. I get the extra $20K, but I have always believed it is better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

The good thing, there is NO wrong answer.
For me it is not about EGO, it is about FOMO.

From what I've learned watching youtube videos (very scientistific) aka 'Out Of Spec', the battery is warmed by the motors, not the pack itself which is why single motor EVs have a harder time traveling in winter.
