Well, WiFi is not really in use mid-drive, right? I don't know of any way to cycle the Cellular data connection without a screen reboot.
some things get pre-cached for your next drive (youtube, music, etc), so when you leave your house you may get through a song or two before realizing that your cell connection is borked. And the majority of the time, it's because the handoff between wifi and cellular didn't happen successfully.

you can cycle the modem, but likely only able to do it in the service menu; which is ... not ideal while trying to drive haha

Wow.

I'm impressed with the CT. Six months in and it's better today than when I got it.

All the problems described are valid. But we have by wire steering, fast on the fly air suspension, bug free (almost) windshield, an electric truck that absolutely blows alway the competition on efficiency BY FAR, is quiet and smooth on the road but rugged enough for off road, and is FAR less buggy than I expected for a 'built from the ground up truck'

You will really love changing the 58V low voltage battery when they fail if you are frustrated - it's like $600. But it's worth it for the 48V sound system I did not mention!

There are so many things to love about this truck I just can't get negative about it. And Tesla is NOT abandoning the truck - these are tough times for a lot of people and the truck is expensive. After the economic reset things will slowly start to get better.

Also, it's a good note that the mid-voltage battery should last *way* longer than typical lead-acid 12v batteries; and the price should come down in the years to come too!

I'd been driving for quite some time, but made the mistake of parking in a cellular dead zone. I thought it would recover as I drove away, but it did not, even after several miles.

I also thought about checking Service Mode, but doing that while moving in FSD seemed like a pending Darwin Award.

Do you know the chemistry of the MV battery? Since it is constantly kept at 100% SoC, it's probably LiFePO right? Nickel-based cells would not enjoy that.

Lithium Ion - and yes, they last longer. I was not actually complaining - it should last quite a long time but likely will not last 3-4X a traditional battery - just less change outs.

I've experienced all of the above, the wiper being the most irritating as it does it almost every time I switch into FSD or shortly there after. Sometimes driving down the wrong side of the road, cutting into a curb on a left hand turn, and hugging the center is just plain scary, but I still love it and hope eventually they will collect enough data to train these things out. Occasionally it will decide to pull into my drive instead of speeding up and shooting down the street at the last second. Once it actually took me all the way into my garage and parked within 4 inches of letting me close the garage door. Magical! But the next time it almost crashed into my wife's already parked car.

Still I love FSD especially since I'm not paying for it. Assuming they fix the wiper problem I might pick up the subscription after the free period ends. I can pay attention and stop it from driving crazy but there is no way to stop the stupid wiper other than turning it off - which requires a dry wipe? Is there another way to disable it?
" But the next time it almost crashed into my wife "
How can I get this feature?

Had my CT since December. Nothing but good with it. The person starting this thread is definitely a troll. Admin should pick up on these quicker. It just allows others to pile on. The good thing is that there are lots of others who talk about the awesomness of this ride. Stay safe all. Try to ignore the trolls.

pin the wiper setting to your bottom bar is the best we have so far.
Thanks! I had not thought of that. Good idea.

How do I do that?
Open Apps. Press and hold the app you want to drag to the control bar. A message will pop up telling you to drag it. There is also a "Customize" button that shows up at the top of the apps window for more detailed customization.

I agree with the majority of what you said but I just came off a trip where FSD rode the left a(yellow) and right (white) lines enough to hit reflectors. Not all the time but a lot.
I thought I might just not notice it so specifically checked for it on my last long trip (200 miles round trip freeway, two lane, and city driving) and mine doesn't do this at all.

It's becoming pretty evident that Tesla really doesn't care nor places priority anymore on the Cybertruck. Had the sales matched the pre-orders, I feel like we would all be in a different boat; enjoying all the benefits that other models get.

1) FSD is fundamentally a joke - either gets uncomfortably close to other vehicles, curbing, keeps hugging either the left/right part of the lane (instead of being dead center), and/or runs the wipers dry on a sunny day. In some safety critical situations, it just turns into the wrong side of the road / divider.
2) No Actual Smart Summon - not even providing users with a dumb summon in the meantime until they can figure out how to implement ASS - I have a feeling this will never come and will be cancelled like Autopilot.
3) Cancelled Autopilot - Tesla completely gave up on their Autopilot venture for non-FSD users, which is huge given every Tesla to date used to have the basic Autopilot feature.
4) and now this: S and X will be getting an overhaul when it comes to the next revision of FSD. Thanks to their vehicles having a dedicated GPU, it will be using Unreal Engine moving forward to push the next generation of FSD Visualizations - similar to 10.10 software seen in the CyberCab. For the longest time, especially given the price of the Foundation Series, I thought the Cybertruck will at least share the same processor as the S and the X - not the 3 and Y. However, Grok just confirmed the Cybertruck only has 2 TFlops vs the dedicated GPU S and X have at 10 TFlops therefore it won't be able to ever run Unreal Engine.

If only the Cybertruck had sold well... none of us would be in this situation.

Recently went on a 600 mile ride with about 90% of the ride using FSD. It worked great. There really isn't to much that I don't like about the CT. Yeah there is one and its washing it if my OCD would just stop.

You are lucky. It is unnerving.
