first pictures, now dashcam. What would dashcam show you guys? Him hitting the pole as he swerved to avoid a car? It won't tell you anything further than that.
Dashcam footage would let us see if the OP was trying to beat a Dodge Challenger (or similar) into the left turn lane before the corner or if it was a 'sleeper' of a hot car that didn't want to let him in.

Or how long the light had been yellow before he punched it to make the corner.

Or how hard he launched from a red light.

There are many ways this accident could have happened, including road rage, but one of them stands out as particularly unlikely, brake failure during normal, calm driving. I'm generally accelerating lightly through corners, not braking.

Whether this story is true or not, it's extremely helpful in accessing your personal "BS detector".

That’s the pole I hit, 100%
I am curious, did you drive the truck after the accident and did the brakes operate normally then or did you continue to have this same delayed braking response as you said? The brakes are hydraulic like any other vehicle so if it failed once I would assume it would continue failing. If you can repeat the problem should be a slam dunk. If you say it only happened the one time I would agree suspect or driver error. The telemetry will tell the story.

Updated with info, Q&A

Regen was working but it was limited it was different than before ( I’m doing a bad job of explaining), hence the application of brakes which also had a delayed feeling. I’m glad to be uninjured ?

Feeling a bit sore
Still love the truck though.

I also requested the logs

Yea they have a team looking into it right now.

I find out what their diagnostics and review of the issue is.

Letting go of accelerator I can feel the limited regen , pressing brake it didn’t feel like it was catching until too late. Again I can only explain the laceration I don’t know what happened

You tell us

That had to be scary as hell. Sorry this happened to you. Obviously this could have been much worse.
No doubt you are or your truck is already famous at Tesla.
Media stories will be picking this up quick since they thrive on any bad news about Cybertruck.
Did you hit the pole because there was a car in front you wanted to avoid, because steering was working just brakes malfunctioned?

Get a personal injury lawyer immediately.
Yes, great idea, sue yourself for an accident you caused.

Logs will likely show OP at fault.

This drama is going to be a Netflix doc in 5 years. We’ll all be on there to give opinions.
[Documentary Narrator] Where were you when you heard about the FIRST EVER Cybertruck to hit a light pole?

[Me] I had just got home from work and sat down at my computer to catch up with new posts on the Cybertruck Owners Forum. I clicked the link, read the post and thought "Why didn't he steer away from the pole?" Then I demanded, "Show me the video". To this day, I've never seen the video.

I wonder how you ended up over the sidewalk and into the pole? Are you going to blame the steer by wire? How did you hit the drivers front corner if you were steering? I haven't seen a diagram of the accident area but I just don't see how you hit the front left corner with a pole on the right side of the road. To me very suspicious

In the American judicial system it is innocent until proven guilty. That does not work on the world wide web. It is the opposite. With posts like this you are guilty until proven otherwise.

The only way to prove the vehicle caused the accident would be to post some sort of system report from the vehicles ECU that shows a malfunction. Anything short of that...good luck.

I am just stating the facts.

I overcorrected the steering a couple of times on the cybertruck since it’s so different then the other teslas. Maybe it just got out from under you while turning? It is a very large and fast vehicle.

He ended up hitting the light pole because everything failed…… steering, brakes **gasp**

It’s possible…..

or

He was showing off his Cyberbeast mode and was unable to control it ……. This is the most likely scenario…
