It was later shared that the thickness he referred to was 3 mm. This was widely shared. There have been any number of interviews, even by Franz this year, where they continued to say the same things about the skin and formability.

If they have made the rest of the vehicle with thinner stainless, or another grade, then they could have used a stamping press but they have 'never' said that they could use a stamping press to form any part of the skin.

what you quoted above is said in one part of the presentation

in a *Different* part of the presentation he talks only about the doors, and demonstrate only the doors, when discussing it being bulletproof (or withstanding the sledgehammer)

meanwhile, only the doors are in the Tesla patent for 'exoskeleton'

put differently, based on info presented in the unveil, it has been at best *indeterminate* as to whether they were making claims about only the door and not the rest of the SS

what has been a mistake are people who interpreted or assumed that the discussion was not only determinate, but in the direction of describing the entire vehicle
