Its a crazy high quote. Maybe I should have someone else do the universal wall connector then do the powershare through qmerit?

FYI I was charged 1300 in labor for the original tesla charger install back in 2021. So basically easier labor this time (using existing wire runs) for 2-3X the price.

Certified Tesla installer- 2k. a great deal though, but he may sell a Powerwall to me for being so reasonable. Spending my 2500$ voucher tonight on power share!

Installer is a certified installer and the website says they do power share. So I doubt there is a reason he can't. Plus he said he's done it 10x. Listed on Teslas own website!

It even includes a drive from out of state and a hotel room for his crew for the night. Lol. What a racket.

Keep me posted please. When are they doing it? I had the Qmerit installer here last week. Should give me a quote soon. Hoping I am not stuck with them if their quote is outrageous.

Got my quote tonight. Then was like omfg. Went to Tesla site and clicked the find an installer. Clicked power share and called the two listed companies just avoiding qmerit. Guy was instantly knowledgeable and was ahead of the other electrician in about 20 seconds. Night and day.

If they advertise that they install it on the Tesla website, I doubt Tesla can argue when I call and say turn it on baby!

Ordering the gateway and uwc tonight. I'll text installer when it gets here. Will update as I go. Who knows with shipping etc.

This was my mistake. I just realized. Clicked Powerwall.

But the installer is a certified installer and says he's done 10 at 2k a pop or so. Maybe I'm missing something but a quick zoom call and he knew exactly what I needed.

Too bad the powerwalla are so much! Guessing I can install a side by side Powerwall gen 3 down the line as needed.

"Powershare Home Backup equipment can only be installed by a Tesla Certified Installer, like Qmerit."

That sounds gravy to me!

Be careful before you pay that other guy and Tesla denies you the Power share capability. I think I've read that here.

Smart Charge America (not affiliated w/ qmerit) is a long time Tesla Certified installer that has installed PowerShare at more than 100+ homes all over the country. Tesla used Smart Charge America for the early pilot testing of PowerShare. You can use Smart Charge America for your install as there is no one forcing anyone to use qmerit.
