There are 6 pillar trim pieces per Cybertruck; A, B, and C pillars for left and right side.

~ $226M U.S. dollars worth of contract per the article
$226M / 5 years (2024-2028) = $44.3 million U.S. dollars per year

I don't know what panel trim usually costs Tesla but if we knew how much the panels cost Tesla (probably similar price as the MX but not the retail price), we could extrapolate how many Cybertrucks Tesla is planning on producing in the next 5 years.

$44,300,000 / (avg panel cost x 6 panels) = average production of Cybertrucks per year through 2028.

Does anyone know Tesla's cost per pillar trim panel?

you don’t know the costing structure to make this extrapolation

for all we know, there is a $20M tooling charge before unit pricing is relevant.

When Tesla breaks out the cost per item on a contract, the fees are included, right? I mean, if Tesla breaks down the cost of production so ensure they make a profit, they'd include any setup costs, wouldn't they? If it were their own equipment, they may amortize it over 20 years or whatever but since this is a limited contract, they'd bake the cost of setup into those 5 years of production of the pillar trim.

Maybe yes, maybe no. Only pointing out there are a lot of possible manufacturing cost structures other than a direct and exclusive per-unit approach.

Would be interesting, but unknown errors would only run one direction: suggesting more units than actual.

Spoiler Alert; I've got a friend who knows the guy who is contracting for the tire valve stem caps for the CT. They are special order because they are bullet proof and marine grade. That's all I can say at this juncture but boy is this exciting news.

Apologies to the OP and MODs, I probably should have started a new Thread. /s

Translated,

The order size seems to be 300 billion won Tesla's first pickup electric car Enlarge photo Tesla Cybertruck. [Photo courtesy = Tesla] KOSPI listed company Seoyon Ehwa recently announced that the new model of US electric car maker Tesla will be installed in the A· B· It was confirmed that the order for C-pillar parts was received. The order will be installed on Tesla's first pickup electric vehicle model "Cybertruck," which is scheduled for mass production at the end of this year. The order size is expected to be about 300 billion won. According to Maekyung.com's coverage on the 4th, Seo Yeon Ehwa recently announced that Tesla has been a company with A· B· Contracted to supply C-pillar parts. The pillar is a pillar connecting the body and roof of the vehicle, and the filler in the middle of the front and side windows is called the front pillar (A-pillar), the one in the middle of the front and rear windows is called the center or side pillar (B-pillar), and the one between the rear window and the side window is called the rear pillar (C-pillar). Seo Yeon Ehwa is the A· B· It has been confirmed that all C-pillars have been ordered. The contract period for parts is until 2028, and related sales are expected to reach 300 billion won. Seo Yeon Ehwa leased a plant in Monterrey, Mexico, with a budget of about 13 billion won to manufacture filler parts for Tesla's cyber truck. Expatriates will be dispatched here next month to manufacture parts. Tesla Cybertrucks are expected to be shipped from the end of December this year. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said during a conference call with analysts on March 20, "We expect the first delivery event of the electric pickup truck Cybertruck to take place as early as the third quarter." Seoyon Ewha CI. [Photo provided = Seo Yeon Ehwa] Seoyon Ewha is Hyundai's first-tier vendor and specializes in the production of interior and exterior materials for automobiles. It is known that more than 90% of sales are generated by Hyundai and Kia. In the first quarter, sales on a consolidated basis reached KRW 2.8453 trillion and operating profit reached KRW 150.6 billion, an increase of 30.5% and 128.4% compared to the same period last year. In 2005 and 2010, Seo established subsidiaries in Alabama and Georgia in the United States and has supplied parts to Hyundai Motor Company and Kia. It also invested 37.9 billion won to expand a new factory in Savannah, Georgia, USA. This is for Hyundai Motor Group's supply of factories dedicated to electric vehicles and the expansion of its business in North America. The stock market expects Seo to invest up to $100 million in the future to enter the U.S. market. Seo Yeon Ehwa is pursuing additional orders following the order for Tesla's cyber truck filler parts. In the case of fillers, the supply cost is relatively low, so it cannot contribute much to performance, but if floor parts are included, it is expected to contribute a considerable part to sales. An official from Seo Yeon Ewha said, "It is still ongoing internally," adding, "We have no issues to comment on regarding the order due to the signing of a non-disclosure agreement." Hope their (Subcontractor) using U.S. approved quality metals / quality practices making those parts.

Huh? What kind of comment is that?

Tesla is the one that specifies the materials used, the tolerance and finish specs and everything else about the parts.

Valid comment it is..

When you subcontract to another company source one needs to ensure compliance in all aspects is adhered. If you haven't worked in a Manufacturing environment you wouldn't know this.

I have worked in manufacturing. My point was that the parts will meet spec or that supplier won't be a supplier for long. Tesla de-risks their business by having multiple suppliers for the same part. This is not the kind of thing that keeps the end users awake at night. The quality is determined by the automaker, not the supplier.

Crazy expensive $2.3 Million for a body to cab top bar (C-pillar part)!

Tesla has to roll that $ cost into the cost of each EvTruck
No, actually Tesla needs to roll the contract amount into all trucks produced over 5 years that use those parts (not each truck). This is actually one more indication Tesla plans to build huge volumes of the Cybertruck.

Your comment shows a lack of understanding of automaking or perhaps it's simply an amateur attempt at making potential Cybertruck purchasers think this bit of news means Cybertruck will unaffordable.

Millions of dollars are inconsequential when spread over the production of millions of Cybertrucks.
