My CT is over a year and a half old, and I simply love it. I really don't care what people think about it. I know it's a great vehicle, and I have my fair share of different vehicles. The only regret I have is that I should have waited to buy so I could have gotten unlimited supercharging. While mine has not been problem-free, Tesla quickly fixed any issues I have had. If you see a guy driving a CT with a smiling from ear to ear that's me. 👍

The CT is absolutely a flop for Tesla. They spent billions on creating a specific line, process, etc that can support 125k trucks per year and expand to 250k. For it to only sell 25k (current estimates based on 1st half)in year 2 is a flop as far as resources spent and expectations.

It's the best vehicle Tesla has ever made, but Tesla saying they won't use HFS in any other product in the future and not bringing SBW or 48v to SEXY shows that the cost don't equate to demand. The Cybercab and maybe roadster will get some of those features, but as Tesla transitions away from being a car manufacterer and into a taxi/robot company, I don't think we will get anything awesome like the CT again and it sucks.

I would like to sincerely thank everyone for sharing so much information, knowledge, and professional insights.
Based on that, I recently purchased a Cybertruck for my family of four, which includes my two sons in high school.
I bought it as a family car, not for business purposes. I know that with just a few days of ownership, my experience cannot surpass that of many seasoned owners.
I purchased the All-Wheel Drive version. During the buying process, due to financial reasons, I had to spend about a month just watching the inventory, feeling both nervous and excited. During that time, I personally saw at least five trucks from transit inventory within 100 miles of my area being sold each week. Of course, that’s not a huge number overall, and it only reflects my local transactions, but I don’t know what other factors might be involved.
Still, what struck me was this: whenever I thought, “This time, I’m going to order this Cybertruck!” it would be gone the next day. That convinced me that there is definitely strong interest in the vehicle, which I took as a positive sign.
When I finally took delivery of my Cybertruck, I didn’t find any of the many issues I had worried about. In fact, the quality felt much more solid and stable compared to when I took delivery of my Model Y.
I carefully inspected the truck—lying on the ground, climbing into the trunk, looking for scratches with a cautious eye. Yet, I was very satisfied with the quality and the service I received.
Another point I’d like to share is that while the Cybertruck is certainly a premium vehicle, I don’t feel it was expensive at all.
After applying the $7,500 tax credit and the $1,000 loyalty discount, my total came to about $71,500. I didn’t feel the need for the Beast or other high-end options.
At this price point, with this configuration, it was the most affordable choice among all trucks, premium vehicles, and family cars I had considered over the past three months.
I also understand that quality improvements have been gradually applied over the past year and a half.
So, cautiously speaking—
the Cybertruck is neither overpriced nor a problem-ridden vehicle.
I am not a Tesla fanatic, but I can confidently say this: for me and my family, this truck is, without doubt, the best choice we could have made at this time.
I’d like to once again thank the community and everyone who shared their knowledge, which greatly helped me in making this decision

I second crispark’s comments. Had ours for about 4 weeks. In my opinion much better ride and tech than my 2020 Model X and 2018 Model 3. Compared to conventional trucks from Ford, Ram, and GM. Major difference is that short spouse with mobility issues is able to get into the vehicle without hurting yourself. Everything from F-150 and up was way too big of step. Additionally, when getting the cab as nice as CT you will spend even more. Minor issues were resolved at the west Bloomfield service center quickly. I’ve owned two diesel pickups and this one is far superior. Plus is it will still look great in 10 years when other trucks will be rust heaps!

Who’s the ford ceo?

I wonder why the media never calls the Ford Raptor that sells less volume a flop? It's a high-end truck that most people either can't afford or don't want to spend the extra money on.

The Cybertruck offers great value but not enough people can afford it to make it a big seller. I'm just glad Tesla spent the time and money to develop such a magnificent machine.

The $100 reservation didn't do the Cybertruck any favors. It was way too cheep of a buy-in and I'd bet a large percentage of the reservations were people just hoping to flip it. The conversion rate with that low of a reservation was always going to be low, even before the price changes. I think it's only a failure on paper based off demand that never really existed. It hardly seems like a failure compared to sales of other EV pickups. I think they could see a jump in demand if the RWD started at $60k instead of $70, it just isn't priced competitively for what it lost.

My 2nd car is a BMW i8, they only made 20,000 of them over 6 years of sales. There's no reason Tesla can't have low volume models, the S and X keep going.

I'm not convinced a traditional looking truck would sell any differently. It would still have all of the costs of the CT, if not more when you factor in stamping and painting. There are already traditional EV trucks in the same class and neither of them is exactly flying off the shelves.

I'm 78 and this is the only vehicle I have owned that I get excited everytime I drive and I have a model Y and had a model 3.
I am also 78 and feel the same about mine! My wife has a Model X and it drives much differently, so I have to learn all the differences everytime I drive hers! I don't have any of the negativity, either! People wave at me and use ALL their fingers!

I would like to give a shout out to Tesla, the team that engineered and built it and Elon Musk for making it all happen. The Cybertruck is absolutely the most amazing vehicle that I've ever driven (and I've driven some really cool vehicles). When people ask I tell them, "It handles like a sports car, rides better (and is quieter) than my Escalade, accelerates like a super car and does it all on all terrain tires!" What's not to love?!?!

I've had my CyberBeast for a year and a half now and it's my second EV ever (my first was a Hummer EV edition 1). Cybertuck is the clear winner here as the steering and handling (and acceleration) FAR surpasses the Hummer on the road. The electronics are also VASTLY superior as is the ability to drive itself. I'm glad that I don't have to worry about paint and shopping carts, tree branches or anything else that might scratch my paint. BTW, I've only ever sprayed my truck off at the car wash 2 times since I've owned it (that's the extent of me washing my truck), the rain washes it off more than anything.

I DO NOT like to hear all of the negativity that the CT gets and don't think it's fair. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY TRUCK and if I wrecked it and had a total loss, I'd buy another one just like it in a half of a second!

To all of the people that flip me off, throw s*** at me, scream derogatory names at me, ect... I drive a vehicle that is (for me) VASTLY superior to whatever the hell it is that YOU drive. Perhaps you should consider the possibility that you're just obtuse and follow the sheeple that listen to fake news. Why don't you take a drive in a Cybertruck and then you'll have a better position to make claims about it.

Grow up. People are afraid of change (not me) and there is something on the horizon that is better than what we're accustomed to. Embrace it, you won't be disappointed.
Amen bro - I feel exactly the same way about mine.

Well said. I liked your sentiment about a total loss and repurchasing the exact same Cybertruck. I feel the same.

A movie can have great screenwriting and great acting, and can get rave reviews from the people who see it, and yet still flop relative to box office expectations. In the same way, a vehicle can have great technology and great performance, and get rave reviews from the people who buy it, and yet still flop relative to sales expectations.
I wonder why the media never calls the Ford Raptor that sells less volume a flop? It's a high-end truck that most people either can't afford or don't want to spend the extra money on.
Because nobody -- including Ford -- ever expected the Raptor to be anything other than a high-end, low-volume model. Ford budgeted development and production costs accordingly, the Raptor met the (low) sales expectations, and so it can be considered a success.

The flop is the Ford Lightning. I'm sure it cost way more to develop the Lightning than the Raptor, and Ford built out production for 150,000 units per year, which is far above actual sales. Ford seriously miscalculated the demand for full-sized electric pickups, just like Tesla did, and has faced similar media criticism.
If Tesla were to make a truck that looks “normal” it would sell like crazy, regardless of the price.
The Lightning is as "normal" looking as you could possibly expect an EV pickup to be, and yet it's also a flop. I just don't think the full-sized pickup market is ready for EV trucks yet, whether they are normal or weird looking.

My guess is that the first EV pickup to actually sell well will be a smaller Tacoma or Maverick competitor, not an F-150 competitor. I don't think it will come from Tesla.

Don't forget CT sales once enough companies figure out that autonomous vehicles can also move cargo too. I think too many folks are sleeping on that little idea.
