I think the mirrors are meant to be removed. They are small and cheap and removable.
In California you are required to have two rear view mirrors installed. Where most of the trucks are sold, those mirrors will be staying on.

Are you suggesting most of these will be sold in California?

California has a much lower truck/ resident ratio than much of the country.

FreightWorks Tech: MirrorEye Demo
Recently we had an on-site demonstration of the incredibly innovative MirrorEye Camera Monitor System by Stoneridge. MirrorEye is a new solution designed to fully replace traditional mirrors on Class 8 trucks with a combination of wide-angle cameras mounted outside the cab, and mirror-shaped screens mounted on the A-pillar inside the truck.

Stoneridge MirrorEye Camera Monitor System: Better Safety Through Better Vision.
MirrorEye Camera Monitor System replaces a commercial truck’s mirrors with integrated external digital cameras and digital monitors inside the cab of the truck. MirrorEye CMS eliminates driver blind spots, provides a greater field of view and improves safety for everyone on the road – day and night.

FMCSA Exemption
In 2018, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) approved Stoneridge’s exemption application to federal law, making it the first CMS to receive exemption. This exemption allows its MirrorEye® Camera Monitor System to be installed as an alternative to conventional rear-vision mirrors currently required on commercial motor vehicles in the United States.

A future with no mirrors and fewer blind spots
MirrorEye technology is finding fans from new drivers to ‘grizzled’ vets, who say the HD displays make hauling a trailer much safer.
Tyson Foods, one of the largest food product private fleets in the U.S., isn’t usually an early adopter of new transportation technology. Still, the fleet couldn’t resist the benefits of the Stoneridge MirrorEye system.

I think Tesla has already solved the BAW "problem" but are waiting until the final reveal to incorporate it into a CT that is out in the public eye. Laser wiper, anyone? The flat windshield would make a much easier surface for a laser to be able to "shoot" across to clear debris.

FMCSA Exempts Rosco Vision Digital Camera Monitor System (DCMS).
Allows digital cameras as an alternative to the two rear-vision mirrors normally required under federal safety regulations.
Provides drivers with an enhanced side and rearward field of vision “exceeding that which is provided by conventional mirrors,” the company stated in its application.

I suspect that Texas will be a bigger market for this vehicle than California, but I take your point that in some states you may need to keep one or two of them on. In any case, I think it is clear that these are designed to be removed (and for those who must keep them on to be aesthetically integrated and minimal drag). They are clearly not designed to be the primary way you see to the left and right rear of the vehicle.

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration [Docket No. FMCSA–2019–0286] Parts and Accessories Necessary for Safe Operation;
Robert Bosch, LLC and Mekra Lang North America, LLC Application for an Exemption

SUMMARY :
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) announces its decision to grant a limited 5-year exemption to Robert Bosch, LLC and Mekra Lang North America, LLC (Bosch and Mekra Lang) to allow motor carriers to operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) with the companies’ CV (Commercial Vehicle) Digital Mirror System installed as an alternative to the two rear-vision mirrors required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs). The Agency has determined that granting the exemption would likely achieve a level of safety equivalent to or greater than the level of safety provided by the regulation. DATES : This exemption is effective September 17, 2020 and ending September 17, 2025.

MEKRA Lang GmbH - Replaces Rear & Side mirrors on Trucks and Buses
The VISION 4.0 system was developed with clear goals in mind. It replaces the traditional main mirror and creates significant added value for vehicle operators and drivers. Additionally, its very compact design helps to reduce the vehicle’s front surface.

I just had a thought. Have you ever gotten out of the car in the rain at the exact moment the wiper blade is clearing rain towards you? Or rolled down the window at that moment? My Y hurls water at me, I can't imagine what BAW is going to do . . .

In the words of Cardi B "get a bucket and a mop for this BAW"
With the BAW mounted on the drivers side, the guy handing you food at the drive-thru will be absolutely obliterated on rainy days

That f-king wiper. Meh, I think I'm out. From a functionality and feature standpoint, I think they missed the boat trying to kowtow to the whims of a moron with a raging ego.

Putting the BAW functionality to bed.

We know based on the recent 8 tires in the bed that the width of cybertruck will be around 60" or 5 feet.

now If we were to assume the Cybertruck windshield to be a square and eyeballing some of the BAW shape and size this is how the BAW would wipe the CT windshield.

No telescopic or complex systems required. this also explains the fairly lower positioning of the front AP cameras.

You show why is has to have a complex motion. It has to clear the drivers field of view. This is a solved problem on ships
