Funny and a good story.

First production EV to Catalina Island wins! That’s a four hour sail on a good day, so more than adequate test for Bragging Rights.
I don’t think they allow cars on Catalina Island.
My son has a good point to add to this comment.

If they don't start building it in a year. IT BETTER FLOAT!!! :ROFLMAO:
If they don’t land it in 2023… it should fly as well.

Don’t tempt Elon!! He’s been talking about EV airplanes in the past. If CT gets delayed again, it just might sprout optional wings. If it can float for a bit, it could probably fly for a bit too.

The floating/hovering part was meant to be with Roadster and the SpaceX cold thruster package.

Also really good to get out of a bog. Engage hover, move to less boggy terrain.

CT is to fat to fly...in fact the batteries themselves are to fat to fly more than 3-400km by themselves. Need around 4-500Wh/kg to make it worthwhile. Structural wing packs evtol.

No, but then again, who's gonna stop it? I wonder how the law is written exactly. It's the only place I've seen this.

Mackinac Island (pronounced Mac in naw) is also a no cars allowed island.

... Ask someone what they know about Mackinac Island, and you’ll likely hear that there’s lots of fudge, bicycles, and horses, but no cars. Since 1901, cars have been banned in Mackinac Island State Park. There are numerous accounts of early automobiles causing problems with horses and carriages. The ban was incorporated into state law in 1960. There are few exceptions to the use of motor vehicles regulation, the biggest of which is emergency vehicles. There is one police car, two fire trucks, and an ambulance available on the island. So, when you come for a visit, the ferry services have plenty of parking available on the mainland. Lock up your car and hop on a shuttle to the dock. The lack of motor vehicles in Mackinac Island State Park is extremely important to keeping the historic character of this National Landmark alive, and one of the most enduring memories of your visit here.

Can a police golf cart catch a CT? Nope.

It can if you don't have anywhere to flee.

Thats just plain nonsense.
If a golf cart caught a CT it would just be squashed to mush! That's like saying a raw egg can catch a baseball bat! :ROFLMAO:

But seriously though, an amphibious bullet proof, high performance, shiny, save the planet to boot EV, has got to be the most desirable theiving getaway vehicle ever!:rolleyes:?:ROFLMAO:

It's a natural outgrowth of two things:

The truck's electronics need to be sealed against weather;
The truck is made of a few, large parts;
The truck needs a wading depth of a couple feet.

If you have enough sealing to resist pressure, then you end up with a boat.

True dat ... I think Elon should put the Mars plan on hold and concentrate on being the first man to perform a transatlantic crossing in a truck of his own design. Would make a great if short documentary.

Maybe not so good for getaway

1. Tesla's phone home to Tesla HQ all the time.

2. Tesla can remote disable at anytime.

3. Cops can ask any bystanders which way the Cybertruck went. Everybody notices Cybertrucks so police have a lot of clues.

4. Cybertruck needs a lot of electrical juice after high-speed chase. Cops stakeout all 1 or 2 SuperChargers.

Or ends like this except since Cybertruck, is the safest vehicle on the road, so no fire/explosion and the driver & passengers all survive.

if the CT could charge via solar while driving, float a butt-ton of solar and go at it!
