The app should warn you “door open or window down .”

I wonder whether you accidentally pressed “Vent” in the app? I had done it once and was surprised why the windows were open. Fortunately the truck was inside the garage. The truck won’t warn you if you invoke the Vent command from the app.

I never leave my windows open. The truck did it. The window goes down to open the door, and it never went back up after I closed it.
no sir, I can tell you what happened because I see it several times a week. You accidentally pressed the window down button getting out of the vehicle. My dad and step mom both do it in their car very frequently (my dad's car is in my Tesla app) and my daughter does it occasionally, and I have done it a few times myself. Last week I had a passenger of mine who had never been in a Tesla do it. Luckily the app will tell you that a windows has been left open and you can close it from the app.

Meanwhile, windows in vent mode on a dry day, and the smell - what Lysol spray is good for. :)

It is soooo easy to do with the door handle right there, way too easy.
Yes, I am grateful for the app warnings because I too often bump one of the window buttons with my elbow when getting out, especially if I'm grabbing stuff to take with me. It's also most often the rear passenger window button I am most likely to hit, the one most unlikely to notice. I have the auto closing turned off because I usually have my dog in the back and want her to have air and be able to stick her nose out when the weather allows.

When I get out all my windows auto close when the the truck locks. It should be in your settings.
Too lazy to see if someone else mentioned this already.

Yup, he bumped the switch/button when he got out and that freezes the window in the lowered position. Easy to do.

Got into my truck with a door and seat full of water after it rained all night. Went back and checked and the window never closed after I got out last night. Now the truck smells like a pond. Haven't noticed this happening before. At least everything still works so far. Before I got out and after I got out pictures below.
Why can't Tesla close windows in the rain? Why no app notification that it failed to close the window??

Oh my!! The next thing people are going to expect is that the truck drives itself!!??

That would be a cool feature; automatically close the windows when it detects rain.
In the 8 months I've had my CT never has it never failed to notified me (almost annoyingly) about windows, doors, tonneau cover, tail gate open - there is a setting.... I've also never experienced my windows not automatically closing when I leave unless at home or a place I've set it not to...???

Didn’t the car send your app notices that the window was open? My MY used to have this problem that the windows wouldn’t (sometimes) close on exit but I would get notices. Recalibrate by opening and closing the window all the way a couple of times.

It will fail if the window doesn't roll up automatically from when you open the door. It's happened maybe 2-3 times in the time I've owned all of my Teslas. That notification is only if you vent or roll the windows down intentionally.
It can also happen unintentionally if the window system ‘thinks’ there is something blocking it. It has happened to me countless times, requiring SC visits and recalibrations.

That has been suggested several times. Just search teslatap for feature requests and you will find it.

All of my windows were up because it was cold. Stop at a car wash to wash the salt off. As I went around the truck the rear passenger side window was down before I realized it and got water inside. There’s no way I would lower the window is these temperatures. I will be watching for a pattern.
