dunno - I think I like that lowered look. Not a huge fan of the big tire/lifted truck look.
Lowest suspension and these wheels will be fine for me.
Having the option to occasionally raise for ground clearance is great, 97.5% of the roads I drive on don't require extra ground clearance because tarmac
Agree. I live in mid Minnesota, lots of gravel and rough roads here. So far not a problem for my Model Y with 19" wheels or even for my neighbor's Model 3 with 18" wheels. What would be a problem is something like that Silverado pictured above, due to wheel and tire damage. Give me longer range, better ride and more durability over someone else's opinion of "looks" any day.

It's a 20" wheel for crying out loud ... put more meat on the tire and call it good. I much prefer small wheels on tall tires (think Jeep / off-road).

Hopefully we'll have good options for alternate tire choices. Putting tires on my wife's Mod-y was not straight-forward due to shortages late last year.

Most of my true off road vehicles I have opted for 15" wheels on 33 to 35" depending on vehicle. Might not look as cool but the ability to drop tire pressure for off-road is extremely important. Lots of air volume also to protect wheels and smooth out ride.

if you guys think Elon and Franz are going to roll out the Cybertruck with those tiny hubcaps, you're in for a surprise.

The 20” rims are likely a result of braking needs, at least in part

to have sufficiently large rotors and calipers to stop a truck that weighs this much, and goes this fast, requires some room

those 20” rims barely fit the CT rotors/calipers as is

No solutions, only trade-offs

I hate these smaller hubcaps a little less than I hated the original reveal ones.
Bare wheels for me, thanks

I think they are tires with higher sidewalls on smaller diameter rims. Tesla always offers OEM wheels and tires in at least a couple of different size options.
These tires are the same size as the Goodyears, 285/65 R20 R20= 20" wheels (rims)

Not a fan of the hub caps...
But the smaller tires just look strange on this car. I really hope this just isn't another play to upsell you to what should be the standard tire.
The tires/wheels are not smaller. These tires are the same size as the Goodyears, 285/65 R20 R20= 20" wheels (rims) that we've been seeing.

I like the smaller rims but need better off road tires on them. With heavy trailer I air down to 10-15 psi for sand camping. Otherwise you will get stuck.. so the smaller the rim the more surface area for the tire. That why many jeeps are 15in rims.
This is the CT, I don't care for looks, I'm all about the performance and utilitarianism of the tool.
The rims are not smaller. 20 inches just like we've been seeing.
