The try DC fast charging is something new. Wonder if they did the update they were talking about that lets it bypass whatever was stopping Supercharging before.

there is a firmware update rolling out to all CT to permit DCFC even if the PCS fails. Without the update you may not be able to DCFC when the PCS fails.

VIN 12xxx and no failure or firmware update yet. have a 500+ mile trip coming up to move one of our boys out of college, CT is on duty. Fingers crossed.
Good luck! I just did a 2900 mile trip to Dillon, MT and then to Prescott Valley, AZ in 3 days and was puckered the entire time!

Tesla designs practically all aspects of their cars though they do not manufacture the electronics (PCB, stuffing etc), I believe that is mostly done by Flextronics and Sanmina for power electronics. I don't think there is any software involved in this failure mode.

The PCS failure mode may be direct MOSFET failure but there are also folks talking about solder join issues (cold/half soldered). The replacement is REV G. In some instances replaced units failed again - though it is not clear if that was REV G failing or perhaps an earlier version used to fix that CB.
The EE in me is asking how hard is it to get the PCS card/board out and inspect for cold solder joints.. I'm good with a soldering iron. Hahaha.. I'll leave that one back in the toolkit. Thanks for the comments. 3rd party suppliers and quality of "product in" is often a big issue for vendors that don't manufacture ll of their *stuff*. Tracking and monitoring is as hard as making it sometimes. The pain of impact when it gets out to the field far outweighs the doing of it right. SIgh... They seem to be on top of where/when/how at least...

Apparently it's pretty invasive, requiring removal of the truck bed.

Just supercharged with no issues. Also noticed in my specs and warranty section they added free supercharging until July 20th. Not sure if they’ll pull that off my account when the part gets swapped, but we’ll see.

That helps! Mine is still pay as you go. I have not had the PCS error yet.

Very, the bottom (FET) side is pink stuffed to the cold plate.

(grin) Funny, the EE in me said the same thing - I can even reflow in my own oven. It is a little hard to believe that they would have cold solder joint issue, one of the more simple things to do right and inspect for. Anyway, I wouldn't attempt to do a reflow - have you seen how big them MOSFETs are? Gigantic.

I just hope I am not gonna get caught by this stupid failure in the field somewhere...

How do we know if this website's info is even accurate? It's not from Tesla. It could be an AI generated content put into the form of a web page.

No idea, just something I saw on X. Don't even have to give any info; it has a range of affected VINs.

Just noticed free supercharging in my Tesla app after tapping "Specs and Warranty" at the very bottom of the app.

I do not have any PCS issues (yet!).
