Imagine the Elon memes with a prospective 60% price increase.

I expect 10-20% price increase
I suspect, for a lot of dual motor reservation holders (some of which may be coming from single motor), it is not the question of if CT is worth it, it is if they want to pay that much for a truck regardless of it’s value . So even if dual motor at $79K compares favorably to Rivian, Hummer or high trims of Lightning, these folks probably didn’t buy those trucks partly because they didn’t want to pay that much. For me anything over $59K is on shaky grounds unless some specs like range is unexpectedly favorable.
Unfortunately NO. $10k increase to $59.990 then YES. Anything more and I am out.
There's a thread for that :)

I would agree that the features are most comparable with the Lariat trim but the Lightning's price is not based in reality.
I didn’t say anything about it’s price.

Musk called it a bit expensive

so what’s left is to muse over what Musk might mean by “somewhat expensive” as relates to how they price the CT

Nobody knows, but so was musing that Musk is sort of obligated to say that at least the Lariat ER is a good truck, because he’s about to release a CT with ~comparable headline specs.

So if Lariat ER is “somewhat expensive” to Musk, what might that mean for CT pricing

For “Dual Motor” reservation holders only.

We are just over a month away from the official pricing announcement for the Cybertruck trim levels.

If a standard battery pack Dual Motor Cybertruck MSRP’s for $79,900 are you still following through with your purchase?

and you selected the cheaper stuff. try needing a clutch replaced in a manual transmission, or a fuel injector

I reserved a Tri-Motor.

I will switch to a Dual Motor, if it has longer range than the rumored Tri-motor performance version.

I would gladly pay $79,900 for the Dual motor (provided it has at least 350 miles of range. At least)

No. I could barely afford it at the announced price. If they raise it, I see myself getting a GOTRAX.

The introductory pricing is bound to be higher. There are early adopters that will overpay for something that's new and exciting. I remember back when the VCR first came out. My brother-in-law bought one for $900. I, being more selective in my spending habits at the time, waited until the prices dropped to $200. The same will happen with Cybertruck. The difference is that at this stage of my life I can afford to overpay for something that I really want. Be glad there are those that do, because they fund the production volumes that drive down the cost of things that would otherwise never become a big part of our lives. Yes, reluctantly.

No, not at the announcement specs for the Dual Motor model. That is a 60% increase that puts it at the same price as the Model X, a vehicle that only sells 30k units per year. While I expect a price increase, that is a bit too much of one. It wont be affordable for most of the market, especially in the current interest rate environment, and I don't think it is a price that can support several hundred thousand sales per year once ramp is reached.
Exactly, and people forget that this will cost Tesla 30% less to make than Ford spends building an F150.

NO. And I doubt my early reservation will be worth much if anything. I'll wait till the discount kicks in due to lack of sales.

No. Will not buy if it's >$65K. I think they will price it with a 20% price increase.
