Perhaps trying to articulate this a little differently would help.
So basically, the only problem with the original harness is where it draws power. The smaller plug closer to the door edge is the issue. The mirror has to be plugged in there to know when the car is on and off because it turns itself off automatically if it gets power but no “car on” signal but it should not draw power from that same plug because that also feeds the computer and drawing from there produces the codes.
The goal here is to keep that plugged in for signal but draw the power elsewhere.
In both CT_AZ_4x4’s write-up and the new harness solution from tesstudio, that power is drawn from the tiny plug on the drivers side of the FSD camera housing above the mirror.

Bummer. Has anyone tried the new version 2 Hanshow mirror? I might make the switch.

I have handshow version 2 and it works great so far. No audio issue. I only use the rear camera not the front though!

How is the mount situation with that one? I have read some complaints about that and some people seem to be preturbed by the size as well. Doesn’t look that big to me in the pictures.

I don’t know. That’s why i offered to chat about it with you and try to figure that out because it sounds like you did it the same way I did but all those other alerts never happened to me.
Should I try connecting the power source by the mirror first before connecting the harness by the passenger door? Shouldn't make a difference..

I don’t think it should make any difference which part of the harness you connect first or second…

honestly, i am nervous to try again since the codes "barely cleared" after OTA update. I tried to get rid of the codes with power cycling and double button reset multiple times and didn't clear.

I honestly don’t know what “barely” cleared could mean. The error codes either cleared or not. The error codes relating to the S92’s initial harness are solely caused by that harness being installed.

I don’t think anyone’s truck was in a non-operable state because of the audio code that populated due to the original harness. It was more or less bothersome.

Where are you located? Maybe we could get a forum member to assist you in person or perhaps you could hire someone or ask a friend with a little more experience to assist you?

Really it comes down to whether you want to have the digital rearview installed without error codes popping up or not.

Good luck!

first harness audio error code cleared after removal. 2nd harness multiple error codes including autobraking when stop, air suspension errors etc didn't clear with reset and power cycling multiple times but final did as there happened to be an OTA update that weekend. I may try the 2nd harness again but otherwise use the first harness with audio error... >shrug<

I’ve not heard of anyone else’s system populating the error codes you mentioned because of the S92’s first or second wiring harness. As an alternative, there is the method that I previously posted (that I used on my own truck) that entirely cuts out the TesStudio harness. I have zero errors or problems.

Are you certain that the wiring harness was fully seated and fully installed? Sometimes in rare instances a wiring harness can have a loose pin or a misaligned or bent pin. I used to troubleshoot that kind of thing on fighter aircraft. I would inspect any harness that you are installing for conductivity between all points of contact internal to the harness before installing anything again.

I appreciate you for replying. I will give it another shot in the near future, starting with the 2nd harness.

Wish you were a little closer to me. Would be glad to help you. Georgetown meaning DC correct?

Update: So good news. I have the thing wired in and it appears to run without the code. The bad news is I still have to figure out how to wire in my tesstudio starlight roof without causing the same error. Also, my car looks like a developing nation revolution inside. I’ll have to fix that too.
It came with zero instructions so @CT_AZ_4x4 and I spent the afternoon yesterday reverse engineering to figure out what to do.
I’ll try take some good photos today so I can help others moving forward.
Tesstudio did send a couple of pictures and a video after I asked but they don’t show anything useful I think. Happy to share those too if anyone needs them.

Btw, as to this probably slightly intimidating image, if I had any instructions whatsoever like in this thread most of it would have been completely unnecessary.
