I may not be able to buy a Cybertruck unless something changes. Anyone else?

I was never sure id be able to buy it, still not.
Elons slow progression into madness combined with other Ev trucks (vans more importantly) coming makin me not too hyped anymore

...had a bitcoin back in the day, sold it for a whopping $1k lol :{
Slow?

Just needs to stay sane enough to make the Australian trucks, then he can be fitted for his rubber room.

For reference I had maybe 35% of what I needed before the dip, down near 23% now.
But I'm still buying.

We talked about this a while back. You should never rely on any stock being a specific value when you need it.

That saidā€¦ weā€™re 6 months from the first possible customer deliveries and you are unlikely to see your truck for at least a year after that. Likely 2 years. Itā€™s very likely Tesla will not be in this rut for 2+ years. Unless you sold probably just hang onto the stock. The next couple quarters might open some eyes up.

If/ when it recovers, set aside the Cybertruck funds in a nice safe savings account.
Fully agree. Though a minor worry is once the CT is released and the first accident or problem occurs the media will be all over it and as we all know it will create a short term tank on the stock. Next will come some idiotic Youtuber that posts a video tossing a basket full of baby dolls in front of the truck at 70mph and exclaiming "see how dangerous it is!!!" and yet again it will tank a bit more because too many folks are just that.... It is what it is but eventually Tesla has so much steam it should push back up again based on financials, slowly.

Thanks for confirming that you are basically 100% clueless about the what's and how's of BTC., and why it even exists.
Cheerios to you, maybe General Mills can help....or some Ben and Jerry's

It's highly possible that by the time full production deliveries occur late 2024, one Bitcoin will get ya two CyberTrucks. :alien:

Yeah, there was literally no reason for bitcoin to increase in value, so its devaluation is pretty expected.

There were three things propping it up and two of those have vanished. The fact that your argument ends at this kinda says which of the three you were participating in.

Iā€™m sure Iā€™m not the only one in this boat:
- My Tesla stock has lost $100,000.
- I canā€™t afford the 1st Cybertruck on order (dual motor) unless the stock bounces back by the time mine is made (600,000 th.)
- I canā€™t justify the 2nd (tri motor) unless the first can make money as a robotaxi (like Elon promised).
I think this is a sign that if your reservation number is low than 369,420 then you should cancel now and then you can go back in the queue later when you have the funds

The truck is coming out at the worst possible time, high interest rates and low stock prices. You can sell your TSLA low or get an expensive loan.
Weā€™re likely 7 months from first customer deliveries, and 12-36 months before most of us get our trucks. Most recessions last 9-18 months and weā€™re already deep in this one.

Teslas been wading through this for years though. Cybertruck will be no different either way.

It would be the first full employment recession.

I hate to say it but I think that Elon is shooting Tesla (and SpaceX) in both feet with his recent behavior. The board is under a lot of legal pressure about the $55 billion compensation package (a shareholder revolt among some of the institutional buyers) and him seemingly trying to alienate the average Tesla buyer (green and liberal for the most part) with what he is doing on and with Twitter could alienate a lot of the Tesla customer base. He has done a lot of great things with Tesla but if he tanks sales the board could and probably should boot him. I have a CT and an electric Silverado as a backup on order, I just hope all of these distractions don't push delivery out even farther.

I have a different problem. I hit my savings goal for CT recently (I figured it would be three years before my CT would be ready when I started saving šŸ˜‚). My truck just crapped out after 250k miles. Now what?ā€¦I canā€™t wait another 3 years.

Position ~400K here.

Well I was planning on buying CT as my first Tesla but couldn't drive only 1 vehicle between my wife and I any longer (its been 4 long years working for the same company whew) so I bought a MYP.

My wife loves this thing but is scared of it. I think I can turn her around, but I am about to import an Australian grandma (woohoo! My mom sucks as grandma) AND about to have a third. I NEED a 6 seater but no-longer have money for the CT, so I'm in a similar boat for sure. Still trying to figure out a side hustle (Gigolo a no-go).
