All discounting would do is increase wait times. Right now most new orders are being delivered in a month or so. Legacy auto is discounting to move trucks that have been sitting on lots for months (and the new 2025 models are already starting to come in). Tesla is selling 2025 Cybertrucks already, with hardly any 2024s in the delivery pipeline.

I somewhat agree….certainly sticker to sticker that is true but ICE trucks now coming back to reality with $10k+ discounts

still cybertruck is awesome and priced competitively but would be a complete knockout for a bit less
Yep my house would have been a steal if it was $400k less the eggs at the market would have been a banger if they were $3 less. Damn my first wife would have been perfect if she wasn’t bipolar. But anyway if it was cheaper it wouldn’t be the truck it is
Side note I just Uber eats jersey mikes. Thanks for the idea ! Speaking of over paying $38
for a giant sub from jersey mikes delivered through Uber eats ? Yeah bro it’s hard out here in the streets!!

It baffles the mind what you all think you “should get “ in todays market for 80k. Every single truck comparable on the level of the cyber truck are all priced with in the same range. If you want a cheaper truck you should start looking at standard F150s, rangers , chevy Colorados and so on. This truck is worth 80k in today’s market! I sold my 2015 duramax for 35k a few weeks ago and my buddy just paid 95k for his new duramax. This is the price these trucks are fetching. The truck is not over priced
I am simply saying that the $80-100k plus truck market is nearing saturation. The % of people that can afford it simply doesn't exist at 200k units per year. Sure your have a buddy that paid $95k for a Silverado, but look at the big data.

The lesser trucks will be discounted first, then drastically discounted, but eventually Tesla will need to reduce their prices to cover the performance/desire/affordability delta AND maintain production volume. Tesla will feather in incentives just enough to sell enough truck each quarter, but over time the price will come down relative to today.

Then there are dummies who paid two thirds more than the truck was ever worth and then complains that he lost money. You can get a used one all day on Autotrader for $100k, but this fool paid $300k just because he couldn’t wait. Should have bought a brand new one and saved. Fake news. $100k for a used is not a free fall, when they are priced at $55k used or new then it will be a great day!

Telsa will most likely introduce the more affordable $60,990 RWD trim in 2025 before discounting the current $80k and $100k trucks.

I think you are mostly right except for the little demand levers they are pulling. The RWD performance will be surprisingly good. I would consider it if they kept the 4ws and the range, but if I recall they are planning on less range.

250 miles of range is the only catch. I hope the new 4680 cells will increase the range to 280 or so.

Or they put the improved cells and get 400 ish. Kind of like they did with the M3 long range.

Most flattish low snow states don't need 4wd.

I’m not sure if that’s completely true, doesn’t AWD help maintain control of the vehicle if you hydroplane in areas that get a lot of rain?

I respectfully disagree on such an absolutist policy. There are many Tesla fans, CyberTruck fans, CT reservationists saving money/ procuring funds that are members or may want to be members. Not every non-owner is a FUDster or troll. You may deride them as wannabes, but their opinions can be informative and they can gain insight on their future purchase, even if it's little more than a pipedream at this time.
Personally, I'm a first night reservation (approx 18k in, RN112764...) and am about $10k off from what I want to put down and finance. My TSLA stock allocated for the CT got close a few days ago. I will either continue to save, my stocks will run, and/or the price equation will improve a bit more and then I'm purchasing.
Sidenote: In Massachusetts they have an EV rebate scheme that hoses CT owners. $7500 rebate with a $80k cap, but they count MSRP plus destination fees, so CT at $79,990 doesn't qualify. (But a Hummer qualifies for $15,000 with no max MSRP just because it's so heavy. MA counts it as a Class 3 vehicle, not Class 2 based solely on GVWR!!!) If Tesla happened to drop the price by $3k, that saves Massholes $10,500, and I order on the spot!!
I disagree. We are the cream of the crop and a special group that should have special access to this site. Non-owners just come here to wine and complain about something they can’t afford.

Pay to Play. Musk made this for us to enjoy regardless of price. We own a classic that will only up in value and is desired by everyone.

The looks of envy I get on a daily basis is hilarious.

Kinda wish Tesla will do the RWD in standard painted sheet metal, and leave a little bit of exclusivity to the CB & AWD owners.

...yeah yeah. Most are wrapped anyways. I get it. Just leave us SOMETHING!

That's why I always like Corvettes. There were no V6 versions posing around as big bois.

the “I’m waiting for cheaper” crowd is exhausting . If the tune would change to “I can’t afford one right now but when I can I’m going to get one” I would have more respect for it.

Ignoring the loss of bullet-resistant aspects:

Outer body of "standard painted sheet metal" means need a larger ( or another) expensive paint shop ( 100s millions) with expensive air and water pollution treatment system.

Outer body of "standard painted sheet metal" means new door design with added side crash reinforcement bars to replace crash-worthiness of current Cybertruck 1.8mm hardened cold-rolled Tesla HFS ( hard friken steel) with no side crash bars needed.

Outer body of "standard painted sheet metal" means NO unboxed assembly method.

...Is irrelevant to the number of trucks Tesla wants to sell each year.

To sell as many as they want to each year, they're going to have to not cost 20% more than the average truck.

Eggs are $3-4 if you pick the right store. Expensive eggs are expensive because they don't have enough of them to sell.

Crissa. All do respect and I mean alllll dooo respect , Whaaaaat trucks are you comparing it to ??!! Please explain with the same payload tow
Capacity bad assitry FSD and tech and same league ???? Chevy duramax ? 95k ford super duty? 95k raptor 100k lets go to the electric in the league , Rivian 100k. Like the only leg to stand on for your argument and others is the lightning and boo no one wants that thing !! for you and some to try to pretend they are over priced while comparing them to a pimple of a truck in the category makes no sense specially when you want the thing so
Bad because you know it’s bad ass
!! It’s just not relevant.
and please for the love of god don’t hit me with you said 95k and the rivian is 92k. It’s Semantics !! You get where I coming from. To continually argue a truck is over prices that the same people arguing want so bad is crazy talk! Truth is if it was soo
Overpriced and the other Trucks you want to compare it to were sooo amazing you would have just got one of them for cheaper right ? Right. And broski don’t hit me with an ad of some duramax bare bones in Alaska for 75k because when you put your parka on and go down they will hit your with a ton of extras !! To finish the second you or anyone ells gets this truck for what ever price you get it for and some other person rolls in and says “welllll it isn’t worth that ( and there will be some) you will say “bullshit kick rocks!
. Where you been girl I was worried ? ?
