It looks like if you remove the front section of the bed floor and the soft cover in front of the pressure tank, you may be able to reach under that front panel without removing it, and into the area where the iPad is. Since the cover isn't rolled up that area should be empty. Just be careful not to damage any of the pressure lines while you're laying in there with them exposed.

…A Few Moments Later

just go thru the interior.. remove the seatbacks and paneling. There are two ‘square holes’ in the bulkhead… maybe these will assist with the extraction..

put the kid in charge of keeping track of the screws… ?
We looked but they are spot welded

Success!!
@sozucom was right. When removing the bed floor, we had enough room to weasel out the iPad as the opening to the well was large enough. We did not have to remove that fabric.

It was actually lying flat on floor of the well. My wife has narrow hands so it may require that type of anatomy to pull it out.

iPad is the light gray object above the fabric.

Just flip the truck over and shake it gently til the iPad slides out. Put a towel or some cushions down first so it doesn't get damaged when it plops out there.

To put a finale on this one. I was supposed to torque screw the bolts to 56 Nm. I dialed it in wrong, broke two bolts. So who is worse? Dad or son, in this scenario? Rhetorical question. Easy fix. Super happy I have my tonneau cover working again.

Sweet. Happy I could help. Glad the washer I lost turned into the ipad you found! Maybe keep that service appointment for your bolts.
I’m trying to see if a friend can unthread them, then right, I’m keeping it anyway for the accelerator peddle debacle. Going on a trip in a few days with truck so want to make sure the pedal is secure. Thank you again.

Here is the video of us retrieving it. We slid the bed floor back a bit using broom sticks on either side to support it so we can use the bed floor as a floor, so we don’t have to tiptoe around the sides and hope to not fall into the compressor bay.

@Hcopter was also correct in post 91. Thank you all for the ideas and support. Now to unthread my knuckleheadedness mistake.
